What happened to Tom Delay's trial????
He was indited in 2005. Why has he not gone to trial yet and why is no one speaking up about it?

The Tom DeLay campaign finance investigation led by Texas Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle led to the indictment of Tom DeLay in 2005 on criminal charges of conspiracy to violate election laws in 2002 by a Travis County, Texas grand jury. In accordance with Republican Caucus rules, DeLay temporarily resigned from his position as House Majority Leader, and on January 7, 2006, after pressure from fellow Republicans, announced that he would not seek to return to the position.

DeLay publicly denied the charges, saying that the actions of Earle, a Democrat, have partisan motivations. After DeLay moved to dismiss all charges, trial judge Pat Priest dismissed one count of the indictment, which alleged conspiracy to violate election law. However, Judge Priest denied DeLay's motion to dismiss the more serious charges of money laundering and conspiracy to engage in money laundering, and the prosecution is proceeding on those charges.

2. I don't know! There was the one in TX., but there was another
one that was to take place in a Va. court I think. That's the excuse he used when he moved from Tx. to Va. I know the courts are slow, but this does seem like a very long time!

6. He was indited in 2005. I've never heard of a criminal case taking this long
to go to court. If the man was held without bail the trial would have been within a couple months. Now they can't get their act together in a couple years.

I swear I think DeLay is just trying to delay the whole thing and hope it goes away.

(I made a funny :P )

3. Ronnie Earle is notoriously incompetent
He bungled the case against Kay Bailey in 1993 and he railroaded a young girl named LaCresha Murray for murder on the basis of a coerced confession. The conviction was later thrown out.

4. No no no what they are doing is replacing all the bi-partisan
judges with republican leanings so they can be sure that delay gets off.
