A request to Centrists and Hilary supporters to listen to DK today

Listen to Dennis Kucinich on Ed Schultz today -- and compare that to the pablum we've been getting in this "campaign."

(You can find a list of stations that replay the show for streaming listening in the link up top.)

Seperate yourself from the cartoon version of Kucinich that the media perpetuates -- pretend he is 6'4" tall and looks like Mit Romney if you must....Also try and detach yourself from your current loyalties to any candidate or candidates, and actually listen to what DK is saying.

If it's possible, try to get the whole three hours. During the show, they are discussing, Iraq, politics, health care, the media and much more.

Then, tell us either why Kucinich is not saying what a significant number of Americans -- from moderate to liberal, and perhaps even conservatives -- really believe in, and what they would like to see from their government and society.

Or, if you are not able to support him personally, at least justify why the other Democratic candidates should not at least take some pages from DK.

Whatever his personal merits of flaws as a presidential candidate, Kucinich represents an powerful undercurrent in America that the Democrats should tap into -- for the good of the country, as well as for the prospects of Democrats.

4. That would not be good enough.
This is a listen and not something you would want put out by people still listening or even people who already know they support him.

Look for archives later, it is the only way to really hear the man.

2. Most of the other Dem candidates...
Edited on Wed Sep-12-07 01:43 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
look/sound like crap in comparison -- that is what is so shocking. They sound manufactured, triangulated, vague, or just plain wrong on the issues.

Dennis gives me exactly what I want in a candidate -- both in tone and on the issues.

Back in the day, before Bush/before the invasion/before DU, I would have most likely been a strong Hillary Clinton supporter -- I was a huge Bill Clinton supporter and defended them both vigorously throughout their time in the White House.

But too much has happened since then, and I have had the scales plucked from my eyes when it comes to politics. The thought of voting for Hillary Clinton is revolting to me. And too many of the other Demcoratic candidates leave me cold and unimpressed.

These times call for a real visionary leader -- someone who shakes up the status quo and challenges America to be better than She is.

Right now, for me, Dennis is the only one doing that. Of the so-called "top tier" three, Edwards (the lesser evil) is the only other one I would even consider supporting.

But, as I so often read here, Dennis is unelectable...

Until America wants a man or woman in office for their stand as opposed to their "electability", all I can do is recommend the candidates to do is start sounding/acting like him and I might take an interest in them.

3. I have a question for you
Why do you single out Hillary supporters on DU? Her positions and those of Obama's are almost identical. Edwards was a bit more conservative than both before he decided to trash his entire Senate career.

6. Because Obama is more real and more populist
Prior to going to the Senate he worked in state politics and as a community organizer.

He's somewhere betwwen DK and Hilary on the scale (IMO of course)

14. Dennis was GREAT!
I seldom listen to Big Eddie, but tuned in today.
DK was terrific....hammering away on the issues.
It is very refreshing to hear a candidate speak clearly and consistently ON the ISSUES.
No equivocation.
No triangulation.
No Fence Sitting.
No Weasel Words.

Ignore the Media hype.
Don't let Big Money choose your candidate.
Study The ISSUES.

”Unlike other candidates, I am not funded by those corporate interests.
I owe them no loyalty, and they have no influence over me or my policies.”
---Dennis Kucinich

It was over when I got home from work. Of course, I've been listening to DK for years now, anyway. :D
