He simply doesn't give a shit what is best for America, the troops or the Iraqis. He also knows that there isn't a damn thing that anyone is going to do to stop his extending this nightmare until he leaves office. He knows that whatever happens in Iraq after he leaves, the gargantuan right wing hate machine and accomplices in mainstream media are going to do their best to paint Democrats as "losing" the war.

Americans can only hope that Congress can force a change of course in Iraq, but that is very unlikely. Other than cutting off funding for this horrific catastrophe in Iraq, Congress and America are left with impeachment.
