Thank you, George W. Bush
Just when the talking noise was drowning out just whose fault its been with Iraq troop withdraw,
Just when the talking noise and rabble rousing was making people think that success in Iraq was almost within reach and the US would be safer for it,
Just when it appeared that the Democratic candidates were being painted into a corner on a stance for Iraq,

George W. Bush officially tanks the 2008 elections for the GOP by basically accepting full responsibility of the war. Despite the wishes of the majority of Americans, he has now publicly shown that this is his war, will always be his war, and he will fight it his way and no mere citizen or group of citizens will stop him. When the majority of US citizens reached out to him and civilly asked for an end to the war, he responded with the middle finger.

George W. Bush has now left no question or cover for the GOP, their pundits and those left behind in his wake. For years they all gave the President cover by claiming that Iraq will not be a long term situation. The President is now on record stating that not only will the US be there for years, despite public wishes to the contrary, but that high levels of US forces will be there as well despite the public wishes to the contrary.

By doing these bold steps, George W. Bush has kicked the GOP to the curb and painted his own party into a corner. Support the war and be associated with a grossly unpopular position and troop casualties or support the troop withdraw and be associated with Democrats.

George W Bush has indeed secured success all by himself. Success for the Democrats in 2008.
