What did you guys think of Reed's rebuttal? |
|
I was praying he was going to mention that this is only an extension of the surge, and not a troop reduction. Of course, we don't always get what we want.
What did you guys think?

4. They've already used Webb, people don't want to listen to a New Yorker, and you can't favor Biden... |
|
over the other candidates.
And Reed was a 12 year army officer whose son has served in Iraq. He was a good choice.
I wish he had lost the podium though.

8. I understand Reed is an ex Army officer, but I bet most of the |
|
people who watched that rebuttal last night don't know that, nor care! I'm just looking for a more forceful speaker. I'm just tired of the soft spoken, allbeit rational & realistic, Dems we've been hearing.

9. I agree. I almost wish they'd throw all caution to the wind and use Barney Frank... |

despite the Yankee accent and some gay speech mannerisms.
He's clearly really smart and logical and can express both traits well in words.
Reed did mention his 12 years as an army officer.

10. Most people can barely understand Frank when he talks, though |
|
once you adjust your hearing to his style, then he's quite blistering. But it does take effort, as he doesn't enunciate at ALL. That increases the likelihood that the many Americans who are older and/or have reduced hearing capacity would miss half of what he says.

7. A mean-spirited, secretive, fanatical, power-grabbing liar? |
|
Because that is what "Cheney-type" says to me.
That is the last thing we need. We are Democrats because we are thoughtful, honest, and transparent--the antithesis of Cheney.

I liked Biden's response (when he was talking with Tweety) better.
