But of course that line will take precedence over the fact that CURRENT TV is up for an Emmy because of the extent of the work they have done in the past two years. I am very happy for this nomination as a supporter of the man. He is doing some great things out here. I'll sure be watching just to see him.

Hopefully that exposure will help that happen. I've been a member of the site since 2005 and it is a great place to talk, organize, and be a part of something unique. I love it.

or DirectTV (Dish is more of a blue company)
on edit: Comcast also carries Current as far as I know. Should be part of basic on all three providers.

But for now I can a least greenlight the videos and participate on the site. And one day I hope to get a camera and find time to actually upload something.

No way he would announce here, but it is yet another sign of his intention to do so.

14. He doesn't have much time left to announce. |
|
I know he's aware that he is not strong in working the mechanisms of campaigns (which he alluded to elsewhere, forget the precise context), but if he thinks even for a second that there is a chance he would want to do it, someone has to let him know that he has to do it soon, and he has to do it THIS campaign season. No subsequent chance will ever hold the same potential.
I really do believe he is not going to run, which I understand, given the toxic nature of today's political system. But if he did, I'd be doing my part to help him. :)

20. He has until mid-late October. |
|
Its a building process. He always does just enough to keep himself in the public eye... whether it is writing a book, presented an award, publically receiving an award.
Al Gore also KNOWS that the focus is upon him and that he is keeping money from the other candidates.
If he is really not considering running, why continue to hold out? It actually detracts from his message when he constantly has to answer that question and find new and interesting ways to say, "no, but maybe". Its very simple. I am not running in 2008, but I don't know about the future and he would be covered.
I wonder how much hinges on October 12th and the award of the Nobel Peace Prize.

15. Yes, because CURRENT tv means nothing to him |
|
:sarcasm:
And of course, congratulations to the man are just not part of the repertoire for so many here who claim to support him. It's all "run al run" and do it our way or hit the highway 24/7.

In reality, one either puts up or shuts up.
Bill Maher has said it best hundreds of times. Global warming is such a major issue, ONLY goverment can solve it.
Luckily, Al Gore is smart enough to know that and also realizes (and has publically stated) that "and that none of the candidates running for president is focusing on the crucial issue of climate change."
That is his ticket in. Al Gore will HAVE TO RUN to help solve the climate crisis.

23. Then tell Bill Maher to get off his butt and run for office if he thinks that |
|
And then let us know how that goes...And Mr. Gore's comment about that was in relation to them not doing so yet because the public is not demanding they do, hence his grassroots efforts through The Alliance for Climate Protection which he hopes will make it a part of the dialogue REGARDLESS of candidate, because without a public outcry and candidates in public office on all levels and all sides taking this seriously, it isn't going to be solved.

25. Bill Maher couldn't get elected... Al Gore could and has a DUTY to do so. |
|
If he truly cares about these causes (which I believe he does) he will run.
In short, if he doesn't run, then it didn't really matter all that much to him.
That's the facts, whether you like it or not.
