3. Not imflammatory; not a dupe. |
|
That one was for the general DU population; this one is for Dean supporters only. By the way, IMO Dean should keep on until at least Super Tuesday.

7. Sorry. I just want to gauge DU support. I'm trying not to be insensitive. |

I value EVERY member of DU (except disruptors, but that's beside the point). THIS is imflammatory: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=352162.

It's like asking a widow for a date at the wake. :eyes:

If they were, I'd delete the post and ask for a lock immediately.

17. I wasn't offended, but then again, everything --no matter how inocuous-- |
|
turns into a flame war on GD2004!
I think it's a legitimate question--Clark and Holy Joe dropped out when they saw the writing on the wall. I'm a strong Dean supporter, but I know he's going nowhere--there's not a prayer anymore. Still--see my above post--I think he should stay in.

It seems the people most offended don't support Dean at all -- I really regret posting this.

I avoid GD as much as possible becaue of this--I think it's time to stick with the lounge until after the convention and everyone can agree to dump dumbo.

4. Well, I'm a Dean Supporter and This is My Question |
|
I have no desire to change my support to another candidate. But I also have no interest in seeing Dean become an also-ran candidate whose fate is sealed.
I voted "other." I think it depends on whether Dean can find a way to continue his movement and energies without being a candidate. This would be a good time to do it. His support, money, and coverage are dropping. By Super Tuesday, he may become an asterisk.
If there was ever a time to strike a deal or to come up with another brilliant organizational idea, this is it.

2. I voted that he should stay, because I want him to keep on with his messag |

Granted, you never hear that message these days, because the media is only covering the fact that he's bombing. Still, if he can get those slack-jawed yokel Dem leaders to be more aggressive, it's worth having him around.

They'd be much kinder to a Republican in the same situation.

13. He should stay in for now |
|
But if Edwards gets huge momentum after Wisconsin, I think I might want him to leave before Super Tuesday. I predict that most of the Dean support will go to Edwards over Kerry, and that surge could carry him to big victories on Super Tuesday. But, for this to be the most effective, Dean needs to stay in for now, participate in the debates, and then drop out and endorse Edwards right before Super Tuesday. That would be poetic justice to the DLC, Kerry, and all of his followers that were berating all of the Dean supporters.

22. I voted yes; the media marginalized Dean a while back |
|
I think Dean should throw his support behind Edwards if and only if Edwards promises to keep certain issues on the table.
Also, Dean could theoretically stay in the race to force Kerry to promise action on certain key issues (i.e., media regulation, etc).
