Michelle Obama needs to think about what she is preaching.
Michelle Obama has a message for women voters: Don't cast your vote in 2008 based on "whose turn it is."

You know, some women just feel like, that it's a woman's turn," she added, regarding Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton." And people have said….that they just feel like, you know, it's Hillary's turn. That, I reject because democracy isn't supposed to be about whose turn it is."

Maybe Michelle should have the same message for African American voters. You can't tell me that people aren't casting their vote because they feel it is an African Americans turn.

I agree with her statement that "Democracy isn't supposed to be about whose turn it is." I know people who were all for Hillary until Barack Obama decided to run. Now they trash her like she is the enemy. They will not even vote for her in the General election or vote for her if Barrack is her running mate.

Now before anyone even thinks about attacking me. I am not sold on either one of these candidates. It is my personal belief that neither one have the experience to hold the highest office in the land. Now with that said. No matter who wins the democratic nomination, I will vote for them in the General election and do everything I can to help them get elected. I wonder how many Barack Obama supports can say this.

2. I am afraid Michelle is going to say something
that is going to hurt Barack. She talks way too much in my opinion. I really want to hear more from him and less from her. I think she may be ticking time bomb with her mouth. She is looking a bit bitchy against Clinton and that turns people off.

12. Michelle can talk to me all day long~ please don't let Mrs. Gullioni
open her cheating mouth. She is a husband stealer but I guess that's OK. :sarcasm:

Please shut up Laura Bush amid Barbara Bush and "his date" Condi.
They say/have said all kinds of stupid stuff and it gets swept under the rug.

Kerry's wife was sharp as a whip --- they beat her down too.

I say, we support the wives of our candidates, not trash them.

:bounce:

18. Rudy Giuliani is responsible for his own actions
Don't blame his 3rd wife for breaking up his 2nd marriage.

If he is a cheatin' bastard then that's down to him.

Men are always quick to deny responsibility for their actions.

Like Bill Clinton "Who put this intern under my desk?" :eyes:

Michelle has been down to earth in some of her answers, but everything's been blown way out of proportion and conflated to mean something she never said.

11. Well, I think she's right about that.
And yes, that applies to minority status as well as gender.

We're trying to pick someone to lead us out of this nightmare and clean up the mess -- all the while still having to dodge potshots from the right (who will surely not give up).

The best person for that job is not determined by what demographic category they fall into.

I remember how excited folks around here were to get a female Speaker of the House, but...

It's not about what they are, it's about what they stand for.

14. Lots of "time for a woman" rhetoric
Which women accept and consider.

But if anybody from the black community says "time for a minority", well then it's racism and the country comes unglued.

Michelle is right to take this on. It's wrong for it to be okay to play the "woman" card, but racist to even hint that it's time for a non-white President.

And anybody who wants to deny that needs to step back and think how many times they've heard someone say their daughter is excited to see a woman President.

16. Michelle is doing great
She got burned about the reference to keeping your own house in order. That was so obviously a reference to Hillary's cheatin' husband. But it looks like she got away with it and is being more careful with what she says in public.

But if we're talking about the candidates spouses, my favorite would have to be Elizabeth Edwards! B-)

17. This is what McAuliffe said in a recent cable news appearance, "It's Hillary's turn."
In the Democratic party, we haven't been in the "having turns" business. Entitlement and turns are a Republican concept.

19. Michelle is absolutely right
and Barack himself has said that blacks should not vote for him because of his race. I would imagine that Michelle would agree with his point and yours.
