Nebraskans pick Barack Obama and Freddy Krueger Thompson in Straw Poll
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A straw poll conducted at Husker Harvest Days shows the Nebraska farmers and ranchers who voted support Fred Thompson and Barack Obama for president.

The unscientific poll was administered to 552 people at the Nebraska Farm Bureau event this week in Grand Island.

Of the 387 who voted Republican, 36% picked Thompson, 16% picked Sen. John McCain of Arizona and 15% picked Rudy Giuliani.

Of the 165 votes cast by Democrats, 35% were for Obama, the U.S. senator from Illinois, 31% were for Sen. Hilary Clinton of New York and 16% were for John Edwards.
