If troops are drawn down what happens to Blackwater?
Edited on Sat Sep-15-07 11:26 AM by rurallib
Those guys really scare me plus we are paying through the nose for their services.
Can W just replace regular army & marine units with Blackwater? Can our government give them weapons and a legitimacy?
What will a new president do if Blackwater refuses to leave Iraq?
Could Blackwater act as a private army for those want to steal Iraqi oil?
Having a private army sure complicates things.

2. That's reassuring. Talk about loose cannons.

3. I'm not worrying about
BW's welfare if we do a troop draw-down. They have been insinuating themselves into other areas...like training cops at U of Illinois. They are not going to do anything unless they are making the big bucks. Besides, there will still be plenty of security work even if we pull a few thousand of our troops out of Iraq.

4. Sure didn't mean to make it sound like I was worried about BW's
welfare. I am worried about ours with a private army running around doing god knows what.

6. They do cop training all across the country.
And THAT scares me - if it all goes to shit here cops all across the country will see BW as being 'on their side', and not as an armed militia. It's all a part of the militarizing of the police that's been going on for three decades, and is a framework for fascism.

5. I think those are some good questions.
BW is making too much money. Will they easily give it up?
