The Clintons arrived at the White House when the world was still partially sane.
The neocons hadn't yet dug their talons into our government so deeply. The
corporations were gaining a foothold, but they didn't have the stranglehold that
they enjoy today.

When Clinton was President the main issues were social in nature. Abortion,
the environment, education, taxes, social programs and healthcare were at
the epicenter of the debate.

Then, in 1994, conservatives took over Congress in a sweeping victory. This further
emboldened the neocons--who were using "moral values" and religious undertones to win
elections. As the Fundies bought into the notion that the neocons were just Jesus-loving,
conservatives who wanted to save the world from moral decay--more neocons were elected and
that foothold moved to a strangled-hold. Corporations secured the noose around the necks
of US citizens--as they bribed the neocons into legislation that made more money for the
companies and those willing accomplices in Congress.

As all of this happened, the Clintons sold out. Hillary is a died-in-the wool corporatist
who has taken money from big pharma, big oil, big banking and other corporate crooks who have pilfered
this country at the expense of US citizens. While our country slides into Fascism and our
Constitution is torn to shreds and our civil rights destroyed--the Clintons have very little to say.

You might hear a promising soundbyte now and again from them, but they don't speak like
they should. You're either screaming from the rafters about these criminal bastards who
are dismantling our country---or not. Many are speaking out...Robert F. Kennedy, Kucinich,
Conyers, John Dean, Seymour Hersch, Bill Mahr, etc. I've heard more outrage from Sean Penn
about this administration, than I have from Bill and Hillary combined. That's no accident.

They sold out, people. It's rude and it's wrong, but it's true. I don't know if they're playing
along for greed and power reasons. I don't know if they're being blackmailed. However, they
are not leading the charge against the peril our country faces...and I do not trust them to
to lead us out of the darkness. For that matter, they've never stepped up to the plate and
positioned themselves as people who recognize the peril and want to overhaul our damaged country.

They both have good qualities. You can point to good things that they have done. I am grateful
for many aspects of the Clinton Presidency and I think Hillary has done some decent things as
a New York Senator.

However, they won't be rescuing this country any time soon.

immediately that the OP was not actually suggesting that the Clintons were responsible for a death of their loved one, they were playing with the similar sounds of "Clinton" and "Klingon," and quoting a line spoken by Captain Kirk, whose son had been killed by Klingons in an earlier movie. Moreover, the OP states clearly that they are merely making a prediction about future events.

If you haven't seen the movie, I can understand if you don't get it, but this is not a case of someone saying something serious but outlandish, then trying to claim they didn't mean it. The OP wasn't serious in the first place, and some of us got that, and played along. Some of us didn't.
