LAS VEGAS — O.J. Simpson was arrested Sunday and faces multiple felony charges in an alleged armed robbery of collectors involving the former football great's sports memorabilia, authorities said.

Simpson was arrested shortly after 11 a.m., Capt. James Dillon said.

The charges against Simpson will include robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary with a firearm, all felonies, Dillon said. More charges could be brought against him, he said.

Simpson was being held at Las Vegas police offices pending the arrival of his lawyer, who was expected later Sunday, Dillon said.

1. The surge will not get one iota more coverage regardless.
The surge is old news. The surge would be old news no matter what happened with OJ. The surge would not get any more coverage; in fact, it was due for less, because there is no political drama left to be had, no uncertainty, no possibility of even the slightest tiny change in the US' approach to the conflict, no event in Iraq so terrible, so horrible, so wrong, that Bush's iron resolve will be shaken. There is no more news there.

And that has nothing to do with O.J. Simpson.

2. I'd inform you that you're full of baloney, but I'm afraid that you may not be.

3. Exactly...
...stranger things have happened. In the two terms of Bush-Cheney, the number of "adults" who are mesmerized by shiny objects waved in front of them has risen sharply.

A new O.J. trial would be a shiny object. That's basically what I'm saying.

4. Well, people were getting tired of Lindsay and Britney being crude little twerps...
Now it's OJ's latest turn holding the ball. So to speak.
