Poll question: Do you agree with Obama's pledge of not voting for any war funding bill
that doesn't have a timetable or withdrawal date on it?

28. Obama opposed the war just as early as Kucinich.
But now I wonder what Kucinich will have to say to be "the only candidate who..."

It keeps getting harder and harder to be "the only candidate who..." with a progressive in the race like Obama who has a serious campaign.

29. Really???
The only candidate who did not vote to support the war/occupation through the special funding requests for the war?

Obama voted for them up 'til this last time.

Hmmmmm....

The only candidate for Single Payer Not for Profit Health Care for ALL Americans?

Obama's not for that.

Hmmmmm....

You get the idea.

Go Dennis!

30. Yes I get the idea that Dennis' campaign is about little more than
backing himself into a corner so he can say "he's the only candidate who...(fill in the blank)." I'm no longer impressed by his bragging and efforts to make other candidates like Obama look more conservative than they really are.

32. I'll tell you what...
When Obama actually has a health plan that covers everyone (not all but 15 million or so), when he actually supports impeachment, when he actually calls for defunding and a full withdrawl of troops from Iraq, I'll think about voting for him.

It won't happen, of course.

Go Denniis! :woohoo:

12. It must be non-Obama supporters just trying to mess with you.
And I wonder what Edwards will say about this. It seems like he keeps going after him...even lying about his positions.

13. Edwards said in the Steak Fry that the Congress should demand
the funding bill to have a time table, and if doesn't, not to pass it and keep doing that until the President gets it.

And yes, I know the Obama haters who dislike yours truly for being an ardent Obama supporter are the ones behind the "NO" votes. I just would like them to justify their vote, if they can. They know Obama is right on this issue.

14. Good. Then he can't attack him.
But it's sure easy for Edwards to speak out so boldly NOW that he's no longer in the Senate.

Don't hold your breath for the explanations.

and, to be frank, I don't think I wanna read what they have to say. It's probably something like "Obama is a Republican/Naive/Inexperienced/Wet Behind The Ears/Etc."...

22. Obama is making this clear
He mentioned this last week in Portland, but he made it crystal clear at the steak fry today. Hillary committed to getting out of Iraq "responsibly", after she's elected. Obama has made this deadline pledge. This is a bit of movement from his earlier votes, isn't that right?

I don't think anyone intends the poll to marginalize anybody else who has made similar pledges. It just came up at the steak fry is all.

would that be a first? not that I would disapprove of that, given the current state of the party.

27. I didn't vote, Katz
I go back and forth on defunding. I think it will come to this, but I don't feel confident that the American public is ready for it and the political ramifications could be harsh. Voters are ready for the troops to come home, but uncomfortable about defunding, at least as far as I have seen.
