Why I'll be voting for Kucinich in my primary
It's simple: His ideas are right. And that's enough for me. I don't have any illusions about his winning a single primary. I don't even know that he'd make a particularly effective President, but his ideas deserve endorsement.

Single Payer healthcare and REAL withdrawal from Iraq are too compelling for me to step away from.

I don't think Kucinich has any illusions himself. I believe he's running to broadcast his ideas- and I mean that in the agricultural sense- sewing seeds. And I admire him for that.

9. I like that he's the only candidate so far that proposes a single-payer plan
for Universal Healthcare. I like that he's a candidate who is for immediate withdrawal from Iraq. He supports women's right to choose. He's pro-peace/anti-war. He's anti-death penalty. His integrity is impeccable on all these and other issues.

6. I'm voting Kucinich in the primary and writing him in for the November Election
Kucinich has all the progressive policies that the Democratic Party's nominee should have. The rest are weak spineless Democrats. Americans will get more of the same kind of candidates that have had a tough time beating Republicans in the past two presidential election. You can say, "Oh, it was the voting machines." And I have seen the proof but look if they get that, they've only one by 2-5%. That's pathetic. That much over a Republican? Are you kidding me? And you can say, "Oh, they disenfranchise black people in Ohio and Florida." Yes, they did but let's tack on another 2-3% at most for that. So, you've got a Democratic candidate winning by 8%? Tack that on to either of these past Democratic presidential candidates and they are barely above 55% of the vote.

Democrats have failed to articulate policies with absolute clarity, they have failed to be different from Republicans before they get out of the primary so that they can truly be a different party----now the two have converged, and they have let corporate powers dictate what they do and say so that the people lose. Kucinich is standing up against that. The leadership in the Democratic Party is trying to keep him down like they did in 2004.

We the People of the United States of America must go out in the streets with Kucinich campaign materials and spread the word in the same way we spread the word with signs that say, "No More War" "Stop Funding Wars" "Bring the Troops Home" or "Honk to Impeach". Everyone make a sign that says "Honk to Vote Dennis Kucinich". This is our way out of always having to protest. Unless you are getting paid to protest, throw down your negative anti-war signs which make people uncomfortable and pick up a group of peace signs with Dennis Kucinich's name on them. Go out and preach how American can be better if we give up on the media, give up on making these other candidates who we think "can win", and put all our energy into making the man who "should win" into the next American president of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!

LET'S ACHIEVE STRENGTH THROUGH PEACE PEOPLE! One of our own in the White House! Don't we all want to scare the corporate powers? Don't we all want to show them we are sick of their crap? Vote Dennis and campaign for him with confidence!

My vote won't go to another "lesser of 2 evils candidate" and I refuse to "hold my nose" when I vote anymore.Furthermore,I won't compromise my principles by voting for another "same old same old" candidate.

28. I agree with you. I'm not going to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Been there, done that, never got anything out of it but grief. The Democrats have got power in Congress now and what are they doing??? What was the first thing the new Speaker of the House said? "Impeachment is off the table."

She didn't have to say that.

She could have avoided answering questions about impeachment by saying "It's too early to talk about that" or "No comment."

But she gave the ball to the other team!!!

That's how Democrats snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, time after time.

I live in New York State so to me it is a forgone conclusion who will win the primary here. My actual primary vote is completely meaningless in effecting the shape of the race, and any on the ground efforts I could undertake here inside New York (regardless of whether they were pro or anti Hillary) would not change how the NY primary vote would effect the dymanics of the Presidential race, assumning there still is one when New York votes.

So a vote for Kucinich in New York would just be a gesture to point out to the powers to be that there are Democrats listening to what Kucinich has to say and they should also.

Only once he is gone will I vote for another Democrat.

Those on this thread that won't vote for whoever is the Democratic nominee need have their head examined. I recall King Ralph saying the same thing as they are...no difference between the Dems and the Repugs. The only problem with this is only history. If the last 71/2 years hasn't taught you the difference between the parties then perhaps you are outta yer friggin minds!

32. I paid attention, I think it would hurt America and our rights even more.
If a republican somehow got in office, the whole world would be scrutinizing them and doing what they could to keep them straight, where as with Clinton, I think people believe she is like a savior for the American people and would trust her to be judge, jury and executioner without thinking twice. She throws around that terrorist word like she were a republican and that tells me she likes the Americans giving up freedom for protection. That bothers me, along with other policy issues like voting for the oil war and continuing to fund it.

She likes using her husband like it means something about her and people believe it. This is from her in 2002 before voting for the war:

And perhaps my decision is influenced by my eight years of experience on the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue in the White House watching my husband deal with serious challenges to our nation.

In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001.

Saddam Hussein is a tyrant who has tortured and killed his own people, even his own family members, to maintain his iron grip on power. He used chemical weapons on Iraqi Kurds and on Iranians, killing over 20 thousand people. Unfortunately, during the 1980's, while he engaged in such horrific activity, he enjoyed the support of the American government, because he had oil and was seen as a counterweight to the Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran.

She knew that oil played a role in our government supporting Saddam in the 80's but somehow didn't know that oil played a role in the war? Dennis Kucinich said it was for oil back in 2002 when he had the same information she had. She sounded just like Bush and in my opinion she is a wolf in sheep's clothing. She is a republican, hiding as a democrat and to me thats worse, I want to know what she is and what she stands for, at least the republicans can be seen for what they are.

36. Not all democrats, I know I trust Kucinich's word. He has been very...
straightforward, even back in 2002 when he voted against the war and said the war was for oil. You have to love a candidate that will be honest with the American people at crucial times. No blood on Dennis Kucinich's hands, I cant talk for the other candidates on that one, maybe some of their supporters can. His vision, honesty and courage to speak out on behalf of the American people makes him presidential in my book but I know most Americans want a career politician running the country because they are worried more about their own agendas? Wait does that make sense? No but thats the American sheeple for you, brainwashed by the media and the system!

41. Heres a scenario for ya...
If you had only two choices which would you pick: You need a bus driver to drive your child to school, would you want candidate A or candidate B?

Candidate A's name is repub and he is a known alcoholic on probation.

Candidate B's name is Demi and is an alcoholic but most don't know and they trust him and he knows they trust him. Matter of fact hes paraded on the media as a great driver.

Now obviously your answer is neither but in this case we have only two choices. Now both have a chance they may do something wrong and have a problem with alcohol, which one is more likely to sneak a drink while your not paying attention, the one thats being watched or the trusted one?

I guess I'm crazy!

Call me crazy, call me stupid, whatever you like. I still feel the same way about Clinton, so no matter how much you attack me personally, I will still have my own beliefs. Maybe in your next post you could explain how you feel about the politics you believe in instead attacking someone. Go back to watching Fox news and let me know when you learn something worth talking about. Until then I will skip all the negative comments from you. Just because people are different and have different views than you, doesn't make them the problem. What a true politician you are, trash someone if they have a different point of view.

The best way to describe the political system is by looking at WWE wrestling. They hate each other on tv, there are always new scandals and villains popping up to keep you guessing, they switch positions from time to time and then after they put their show on for the American people, they smile, laugh and chat like buddies together.

I have yet to see Dennis Kucinich play that game though, he has been pretty honest and admirable for speaking out for the American people.

The Supreme Court. The Supreme Court. At least two of the more reasonable people on that court will be retiring or dying in the next 5 years. Handing the Court to repukes, shouldn't be something you're willing to live with.

should it happen, in a close election between Hillary and Fred Thompson, due to people like you, you WILL be responsible for the end of Roe v. Wade. The contined erosion of our civil rights and the disappearance of the wall between Church and State.

If you can live with that, fine. I won't be forgiving.

When I hear yet another candidate serving up universal insurance instead of universal healthcare, it pisses me off. Especially when my leg is throbbing from an injury 3 years ago on the treadmill that I can't afford to have treated. 51. Here is how to bring us along.
If Dennis doesn't win the nomination, the candidate that does should endorse HR 676, H Res. 333, and H.R. 808. He/she should adopt the Kucinich plan for getting out of Iraq, and offer a place in the cabinet to Kucinich.

I'd be thrilled if Dennis simply replaced Pelosi as speaker, but I don't think the presidential nominee can do that, lol.

Kucinich voters are idealists; we're also issues voters. A candidate who got on board the key issues would win our vote. Not with their lesser plans, but with the best we've got, which come from DK.

And I obviously didn't make myself clear enough in my OP. I'm voting for Dennis as an endorsement of his ideas. I actually don't think he'd be an effective prez. He's not an effective Representative. Compare him to Bernie Sanders who, in his years in Congress, got more Amendments passed than any other rep, dem or repuke. Kucinich hasn't been able to pass any meaningful legislation. Governing is not just about having good ideas- that's the easy part- it's about translating those ideas into effective legislation.

Getting real, we don't yet have the organizational strength to do an end run around the corporate noise machine, but pushing the Kucinich candidacy as far as we can go with it will help us to build that organization. We are further along with that than in 2004. I don't care about electability--this isn't about him, it's about his issues.

Third parties at the national level piss me off because they don't even bother with trying to find PCOs to build locally first for the future--it's nothing but a fuck you nonparticipant gesture without organizational structure that exists between elections.

54. Even with Kucinich it's not about him.
It's about his issues. Kucinich is one of the most humble of politicians. He will not betray his constituents, no matter what cost it is to himself. That is why this family totally admires his bravery.
