Appellate court set to reach decision as Hillary announces her health care plan
Edited on Mon Sep-17-07 09:38 AM by JTFrog
*edit to remove original link

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/malcolm-friedberg/clinton-in-court_b_63308.html

------
removed prior link, didn't realize that site was forbidden as I found it through google.

There is no mention in the MSM about this story. Today there is an appellate court decision expected. Hang the messenger, I really don't care. But people deserve to know about these things during a presidential campaign. The above link has info on the story including the video and complaint, etc. etc.

My apologies for linking to the former site. This story has been buried well.

You deny that it's a story? One that's being buried?

5. Because the MSM
has buried it. And you don't think it's of historical significance that a presidential candidate has to defend herself against possible felonies during a presidential campaign?

Right, I should just suck it up and accept the inevitable. Money trumps all doesn't it?

10. I don't have to like her.
I DO NOT HAVE TO LIKE HER. I don't have to vote for her in the primaries if I don't want to. As much as I don't like her, I will have to vote for her if she wins the primary. That's anguish enough for me. I am not going to sit by idly and let it happen however.

Now. Are you denying that this story is true? Or are you just saying people shouldn't know about it?

18. Because I looked for a more reliable source
and could not find one. Why is that? Is this not news? That a presidential candidate is in court during a presidential campaign?

I first found out about it here on DU. So I tried to find more info on it today through google, but amazingly enough this thing is buried. If this was Obama being called into court, to be put under oath and testify, do you really think it would have gotten buried this way?

If anyone on the other side were called in to testify in a civil suit during the pre election period, this board would be all over it. I have no idea what the op is talking about and this is the first I have heard of it but if true, I'd sure like to know what is going on.
Knowledge is power.

I have no idea what the story is about. I like to make up my own mind but it is difficult if I have no idea what the facts of the story are or even what story is.

edited since there is now a link to the story....Now I have at least an idea of what is going on. I can't see where it is a big deal to discuss it.

30. Hmmm...
the only source is a republican anti-clinton smear site. And your conclusion is that the entire internet other than this site is engaged in a conspiracy to prevent this story from being reported.

Here is a better explanation: the story is total bullshit.

You need to step back and consider what you are doing and what your motives are.

25. You know what's funny?
There is one candidate I really really dislike. I mean really dislike. Don't like him, don't trust him, think he'd be an awful candidate and a lousy president.

But nobody here knows who that is, because not ONCE have I ever bothered to go out of my way to trash him. Why? Because in the event he's the nominee, I will vote for him and I don't see any benefit to trying to destroy him.

It's just nuts how people here can't support candidate without trashing others.

27. the cliff notes version is all you need
The timing of releasing her long awaited health care plan appears to be a well-orchestrated effort to thwart any media attention, or political pundits on focusing on this historic case.

This is an opinion. There is no evidence to support it. Until such evidence surfaces (beyond the biased author's opinion) the story is categorically false.

33. the story still isn't true. Don't try to alter the meme your OP is pushing
The "story," according to the source in your OP, is that Clinton is releasing her health care plan today to draw attention away from the trial in question.

With only the rightwing author's opinion as a source, the story is categorically false.

35. Right, it should be buried.
Just like the story has been. Sept. 7 has come and gone and now they are expected to make the decision today, Sept. 17th. That should be NEWS.

I never said she was guilty now did I? I said she was supposed to be in court and that the story was being buried. I am entitled to my beliefs.

38. How about some sources that aren't right wing blogs?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_F._Paul

http://www.fec.gov/law/litigation_CCA_J.shtml

http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB1189734009288273...

http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/peo...

Although some would argue about the WSJ and NYT.....

IMO, there is a lot of tap dancing around the facts here. I don't want to go through "It all depends on what the meaning of "Is" is" again. I want an election about the war in Iraq and universal health care, not the Clinton feud with the right wing.
