I have not been a big fan of Senator Clinton's candidacy for one main reason. Her inability to stand up and show a leadership position on an issue. While I may have some concerns on the specifics of her health care plan, at least now she is standing up for something she wants to do other than just not be Bush (something EVERY other democratic candidate is). I'll even give her some extra points for tackling an issue that has been hard for her in the past. This is what i needed to see from her to support her in the general election and not just vote against the rethug nominee.
Some of Hillary's more rabid and vocal supporters have asked with exasperation what she needed to do to earn our votes. In my case, this is it. I still support another candidate in the primaries, but I no longer have any reservations against voting for Hillary in the general election.

BTW, Unless Gore gets in the race, Kucinich is the one I plan on supporting in the primaries.

I saw Dennis speak live at the Maine caucuses in 2004, well after he "lost" the nomination and was truly impressed by his passion and ideas. I was a Dean person at the time, but Dennis had been my second choice then. He's a good man and I think would be a good president.

3. She's Triangulating Again |
|
The only plans that have been shown to work are various versions of single-payer universal healthcare, aka Medicare For All. In every case where it's been tried, single-payer has produced universal coverage and better medical outcomes at costs far below what other plans produce.
Anything other than "Medicare For All" is intellectually bankrupt, and will bankrupt many Americans for no good reason. I'm very, very disappointed that all three of the Democratic frontrunners have decided to triangulate rather than lead on this issue.

That I endorse her health plan above all others proposed, I'm just saying that I'm glad to see her taking a position on an issue and showing the willingness to fight for it. This is really all I've wanted her to do. It would be a pipe dream to believe that she would take a sharp bend towards the left during the campaign.
All I'm saying is that now I can happily support her in the general elections instead of holding my nose to vote for her.
