World's shortest limericks
There once was a man named Petraeus
If we rhyme with his name, they will flay us

There once was a Bill full of Rights
It was lost, but the Dems made their flights

There once was a man named “God”
Well, there wasn’t, it was only a fraud

In Iraq, there’s a firm called “Blackwater”
There’s no law if they slaughter your daughter

Wanna play?

1. There once was a man named Petraeus
There once was a man named Petraeus.
If we rhyme with his name, they will flay us.
But, see, the shoe fits
So the right wing has sh-ts
And they hide that they all have betray'd us.

2. It ain't a limmeric if it is shortened

So I took the liberty.

There once was a man named Petraeus
If we rhyme with his name, they will flay us
For two days he did lie
While the media looked to the sky
And the soldiers wished they could see us

There once was a Bill full of Rights
It was lost, but the Dems made their flights
But up on the hill
The senators still
Closed the doors and turned off the lights

There once was a man named “God”
Well, there wasn’t, it was only a fraud
At least in my mind
Did I find
The meaning was usually flawed

In Iraq, there’s a firm called “Blackwater”
There’s no law if they slaughter your daughter
But to those that belong
The money comes strong
And the morality ain’t what it otter.

3. Thanks for the variations on a theme...
... but I'm kind of attracted to the idea of two-line "limericks" for today's hurried, post-MTV times.

6. I guess your right
After two lines their eyes glaze over

We once had a school that did tell
But the TV did ring our bell
And what remains was the prize
Of glazed over eyes
and a nation that has quite a smell

4. There once was a fellow called Tony
Who was 'Labour', but that was all phoney.
Half his plans came from Maggie,
And his tail got all waggy
At a kind word from Bush, his great crony.
