Poll question: Hypothetical Question - Al Gore or Hillary Clinton
Actually I really like Edwards, Obama, Kucinich, and others too.

But if the race came down to Gore vs Clinton ...... whom do you prefer?

4. Clinton. Gore's fine - would vote for him, but Hillary is the best.
She's a great senator, and will make a great president.

6. Gore...
If the Dem nominee is Hillary, republicans will come out in force to vote against her. If it's Al..they'll stay home and I know quite a few who would vote for him!

9. Gore. Easily.

Edited to add:

I've believed all along that Gore is perhaps the one Democrat who could unite the party and close the growing divide. I'm sorry that he hasn't chosen to run. I'd still give DK my vote in the primary, but I'd have no hesitation at all giving my full support to Gore in the general.

10. Agree Gore could unite the country
I agree that Gore has a much better chance than Hillary of uniting the country, instead of further polarizing it. That's to say that Gore could win a sizable majority of the popular vote instead of only 51%.

12. I'm not sure that I wouldn't vote for a pumpkin mousse first today.
It's been too long since something that good was allowed in my diet.

13. You just defined the term "no-brainer"
THE LAST TEMPTATION OF AL GORE
By Eric Pooley
TIME Magazine -- May 17, 2007

Let's say you were dreaming up the perfect stealth candidate for 2008, a Democrat who could step into the presidential race when the party confronts its inevitable doubts about the front runners. You would want a candidate with the grass-roots appeal of Barack Obama -- someone with a message that transcends politics, someone who spoke out loud and clear and early against the war in Iraq. But you would also want a candidate with the operational toughness of Hillary Clinton -- someone with experience and credibility on the world stage.
In other words, you would want someone like Al Gore -- the improbably charismatic, Academy Award-winning, Nobel Prize-nominated environmental prophet with an army of followers and huge reserves of political and cultural capital at his command.
