Come on! Let do some good work here today.

The cloture vote on the Leahy-Specter-Dodd amendment to restore habeas corpus will take place this morning at 10:30 AM Eastern. We need 60 votes to overcome the Republican filibuster of this crucial legislation.


This is going to be a close vote. Almost every Republican office is punting on telling their constituents how they will vote. It seems most will announce whether or not they think America should continue to stand by the Great Writ of habeas corpus with their vote alone.

3. I feel sick at the thought of them not getting enough

votes to overcome the repuke filibuster. And proud as hell of my Senator and Dodd. I'm even willing to cut Specter some slack here.

4. I consider Dodd mine as I used to be in CT. I just emailed all my family and friends and told them

to call. I blows my mind that CT puts up with Lieberman. It justs blows my mind. Here I am in rural MI surrounded by some crazy Christians and I don't usually have to worry about my senators. My rep is one of the worst in the country, Walberg, but the senate we are good. Thank God. I can't take much more. Unless of course I have to. ;)

Now I have to go clean my dirty house. We are having a pizza party on Friday and my husband wants to show the WHOLE house, even UPSTAIRS to his new coworkers.
Quick story so I can delay cleaning...

This party has turned into something way bigger than expected and so I wasn't going to invite my neighbors because there are so many people coming. I ended up inviting them anyway and they can't come. ;) They are what I refer to as Crazy Christians, think Regan was the best president ever, (which I respond, "I don't recall). Our kids went to school together, were best friends, we are neighbors, blah, blah, blah so I had to invite them. Plus I am Italian and and recovering Catholic and so the guilt thing, you know.

SO, as I was cleaning my house when another member of the same cult, I mean church, called to leave a message that she was inviting us to her house next Friday for a TAIL GATE party for a high school football game. Sigh.

Her kids goes to school with my kid, I am having a couple of exchange students from the high school over to get to know the other high schoolers, I know she knows about the party and probably most importantly we live in the Midwest and make New Haven style pizza and they love us for our pizza. I can be kind of like the pizza nazi. Yeah.

Anyway, I am going to email her back, invite her, and except her invitation to the tail gate party for a high school football game.
