Iranian: Retaliation if Israel Attacks
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14522109

TEHRAN, Iran September 19, 2007, 10:28 a.m. ET · The deputy commander of Iran's air force said Wednesday that plans have been drawn up to bomb Israel if the Jewish state attacks Iran, according to the semiofficial Fars news agency.

The announcement came amid rising tensions in the region with the United States calling for a new round of U.N. sanctions against Iran over its disputed nuclear program and Israeli planes having recently overflown, and perhaps even attacked, Iranian ally Syria.

1. Yeah, but what if it's US that bombs them?
That's WW4.

5. Some have referred to the Cold War as WW3.
Also, some say the current conflict in the middle east is WW3.

6. If the US bombs Iran, I have no doubt Iran will retaliate by bombing Israel.
After that, am just as sure that the US, along with Israel, will retaliate, and Syria and Pakistan will be brought into the fray.

After that, and possibly soon into the escalation, Russia will intervene due to their vested interests in Iran and the ME region, followed by China for the same reasons.

We have to impeach Cheney and Bush! It is the ONLY way for this nation to stand down on pre-emptive strike to allow for real dialogue and reparation for the BushCo/PNAC Regime crimes perpetrated upon the world in the last 6+ years.

How can we, as US citizens, collectively address Congress? How can we access a government that is removing itself from the people's will? How can we start a mega million march on our government to make them actually notice that they still work for us, and more importantly, that they have a sworn duty to protect our Constitution and our rights as citizens? Bombing Iran, either by the US or Israel, will ultimately involve the US in a global escalation of war as never seen on this planet.

When will the outrage of what's going on become the revolution to facilitate citizens' will being recognized and acted upon by Congress? When will we be allowed again to act collectively as patriots to participate in our government as is within our rights?

I feel like we, as citizens, are some bad piece of cooking gone wrong set on the back-burner of US constituency, and that soon this citizenry cook pot will simmer so low as to evaporate completely.

As Arundhati Roy stated back in 2003:

<snip>
The battle to reclaim democracy is going to be a difficult one. Our freedoms were not granted to us by any governments. They were wrested from them by us. And once we surrender them, the battle to retrieve them is called a revolution. It is a battle that must range across continents and countries. It must not acknowledge national boundaries but, if it is to succeed, it has to begin here. In America. The only institution more powerful than the U.S. government is American civil society. The rest of us are subjects of slave nations. We are by no means powerless, but you have the power of proximity. You have access to the Imperial Palace and the Emperor's chambers. Empire's conquests are being carried out in your name, and you have the right to refuse. You could refuse to fight. Refuse to move those missiles from the warehouse to the dock. Refuse to wave that flag. Refuse the victory parade.

You have a rich tradition of resistance. You need only read Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States to remind yourself of this.

Hundreds of thousands of you have survived the relentless propaganda you have been subjected to, and are actively fighting your own government. In the ultra-patriotic climate that prevails in the United States, that's as brave as any Iraqi or Afghan or Palestinian fighting for his or her homeland.

If you join the battle, not in your hundreds of thousands, but in your millions, you will be greeted joyously by the rest of the world. And you will see how beautiful it is to be gentle instead of brutal, safe instead of scared. Befriended instead of isolated. Loved instead of hated.

I hate to disagree with your president. Yours is by no means a great nation. But you could be a great people.

History is giving you the chance.

Seize the time.

4. In today's world, maybe not. The US and Israel alone have the right to
launch pre-emptive attacks on other sovereign nations.
