The Government and Meningitis |
|
Should the government mandate that every college vaccinate each of their students for Meningitis? This morning the Today Show did a story on meningitis and the importance of having people, especially young people vaccinated for the sickness. Since Meningitis seems to be a problem on college campuses maybe the government should step in and make it mandatory that all colleges give all their students the vaccine before classes start. As far as I know there are certain shots all college student have to have taken before they are allowed to start classes. So it seems that the government should just add Meningitis shots to the list of shots that have to be taken by students before they start classes. The government could provide some money to pay for the shots of student who have a hard time paying for the shots. It seems that money would be saved by having students vaccinated in that it would cost less to take one or two shots then to treat Meningitis once students have contracted the sickness.
