Clinton: I'm not what you think
At the beginning of her campaign, Hillary Rodham Clinton’s chief strategist said she was “famous but really unknown.”

So I asked her Wednesday how that was going.

“One of the most common things people say to me is, ‘You know, you are not at all like I thought you would be!’” Clinton said and then laughed uproariously. “And I find that a very high compliment!”

Having been analyzed and psychoanalyzed in the media for years, Clinton said going out and campaigning is actually a relief in some ways.

“I want people to make a judgment about me, what I stand for, the person I am, based on as much firsthand impression as possible,” she said. “And I think that is happening.”

2. My judgement of HIllary -- whore for corporate interests
just like her hubby.

I find it interesting that former Clinton aides are helping the fascits president of Columbian get a free trade pact the the USA. Shows the kind of low morals the Clintons and their disciples have. They're the same low morals that Repukes have.

4. Why do you feel the need to use sexist terms like "whore" when describing her?
Freerepublic is thataway.

12. Not sexist
Men are whores too. Just ask Jeff Gannon. You remember him. The favorite reporter of the White House press room.

The majority of Congress are whores. Men and women.

17. Also men can be "inferior slut pig-bitches." Surely you're not going to imply THAT's sexist too!
Oh these PC-police are everywhere saying I can't call a spade a spade.

Even when some of my best friends are spades!

If you need the sarcasm tag to get that, then you suck too much to communicate with.

8. I so want to like her
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 11:05 AM by libodem
and I'll bet she is lovely one on one. And I'm trying to talk myself down about the corporate endorsement. I know that the candidate with the most money wins. I like to be associated with the winners. I want to be on the winning team. But I don't believe in what the DLC stands for. If she would denounce the DLC and buddy up with John Dean and be AL Gore's Vice President, I'd be a lot more comfortable with her.

13. This is the best Goddamn post I've ever read.
For me, the corporate endorsement is a deal-breaker, though. I want to like her, but not enough to see my country sold down the river.

9. Who's fault is that, Hillary?
You are the one who asked for a "zone of privacy." You were the one who kept your health care meetings closed to the public. You were the one who kept the press at bay.

No sympathy from me.

10. Okay, well I feel a little bit safer...I guess...
I think she's a status-quo corporatist with a desire to solidify women's rights, a soul-consuming ambition to become president at virtually all costs, a closet theocrat, a fool who thinks the reactionaries can be appeased and a ruthless maneuverer who's much more concerned about her image and legacy than right and wrong.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Then again, I could be wrong and she could be worse.

The real question is: does SHE know who she is? I think she does, and for all her caginess, I think she's deliberately deceptive because she believes--much as conservatives do--that she knows better than anyone else how things should be. The problem is that she's so adept at maneuvering that positioning becomes an endless obsession.

Yes, one is caught being impressed at the sheer relentlessness of her schtick, but more from the awe of focus rather than any inventiveness there. She is charting the cliched course of the front-runner: ducking all controversial issues and reminding all of her inevitability.

18. Well, I DO let Hillary speak for herself.

And her words and actions have shown me exactly who she is.
