1. The Obama campaign continues to decline...
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 03:09 PM by Lirwin2
Seems like Obama's campaign is slipping faster than John Mccains campaign.

said that.

Don't worry dear, you'll like the way men smell when you get a little older.

6. Too many debates. This won't matter, even if it's geezers. I applaud
Obama for standing up for sanity, and not doing the usual sheep-like, politically calculating thing by following the herd.

8. Make fun of us Geezers all you want. You'll get there some day!
Like it or not, the facts are that people over 45 vote far more often than younger people do. I've done everything I know of to encourage younger people to vote, and that's a good thing for everyone to do.

You could be right about this debate sponsored by AARP tonight, but IF you're wrong, it's a mistake for Obama to ignore it. Time will tell.

9. Obama can do more for the AARP by placing his policies out for them to see
He just release a tax cut that will affect Seniors if he is in office. If they earn less than $50,000 they will receive a 4,500 tax cut. I am sure they will take that over any debate.

20. His plan wil cost more time and effort to prepare tax returns...
I'm all for that as a Tax Preparer...

But as a democrat, I think he needs to look his plan over a little more...

16. Geezers???
AARP is for people over 50. A statement like that is ridiculous and, frankly, offensive.

14. Kucinich was invited - the campaign didn't respond nor meet the criteria
set by the AARP in it's invitation. There are plenty of threads on this already, Kucinich needs to be a little more honest about why he's not at the forum.

17. About 63% of Iowa caucus voters are seniors. In 2004, 64% of the

people who participated in the Democratic presidential caucuses were 50 or older. In 2000, the figure was 63 percent.

This AARP Forum may be worth the time....

21. This is a constituency that should be very receptive to Biden's message
Sen. Biden should go over well with these people who are not easily impressed. I think Sen. Obama is basically practicing for the next presidential election 4 or 8 years from now. He has 0 chance of becoming president in 2008. Experience will be an important theme in this election.

24. And single payer advocate Dennis Kucinich was not invited
This is the second Democratic gathering in which the two most progressive candidates, Kucinich and Gravel, are kept out by corporatists.

25. Well that should give the other candidates an additional 12 seconds to explain healthcare reform
Obama will be in 8 more debates up to January.

If I was for another candidate, I'd be thrilled to have the extra 12 seconds to fill in the blanks.

Whatever... we'll see who attacks whom tomorrow from misquoting what they said in the debate.

27. These old geezers as you call them are
the ones that get out and vote. If they support you they will be there on election day for you. Obama did himself no good tonight by skipping this Senior Debate to raise money in Atlanta...Excuse me but if he was not going to be in the Senate and not vote against the republican bill against MoveOn then Obama should have not attended a fund raiser but rather has his butt down in Jena La...Oh I am sure some will say, there will be more debates in which Obama can get across his message. I say, NO! it is only 116 days till Iowa and Obama will lose that.....HRC will have a majority of the 4,360 delegates neded by Tuesday Feburary 12th, 2008......

Ben David
