They noticed that our "heros" were dissed.
From CNN .com Politics

"The Democrats on Thursday failed to pass their resolution. It included a condemnation of the "unwarranted personal attack" on Petraeus, but also condemned "personal attacks" that happened in 2002 against then-Democratic Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia and attacks in 2004 against Sen. John Kerry. The vote was 51-46, but 60 votes were needed to proceed.

The Democrats' amendment was sponsored by Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer of California."

1. Exactly
And the Dems voted for it while the Repukes did not support the military enough to do so.

5. Three Repubs voted for it: Specter, Hagel and Stevens. Why didn't Feingold?

4. The attack on Petraeus was neither unwarranted nor personal.
It was about a betrayal of trust by a high official, a general officer of the army, as he proceeded to give false testimony to the people's legislature. The moveon ad did not take up the general's personal life, nor attack his war record, it took issue with the testimony he was about to give, and then gave, to congress.

There was nothing to condemn.

6. Well all righty then...
...I'll be sure to check with you before becoming outraged, lest I pick the wrong thing to be outraged about.

Anyway. Why the outrage? Because we were just betrayed in a "symbolic" vote by 27 Senators of our very own party, that's why. And they never even had to let it come to a vote. Therefore we can assume that there was an agenda -- like another ass-covering exercise.

These lame-os think this will give them political cover, they'd better think again. Looks to me like the base is getting riled. I know *this* member of the base is riled.
