Something that stuck in my head from the Dean speech tonight
I noticed that when he thanked SEIU and the Painters Unions he said, and I quote, "They stuck with us till the end." So my question is, is this the end? I think Howard is going to launch some sort of grassroots effort unrelated to the Presidential race. In other words, abandoning the race in favor of lobbying the party with voting power.

1. Not sure yet.
Many many of his supporters would like for him to continue on in the campaign in some capacity. We have indicated willingness to donate when needed.

His voice is needed, or the change in the party will never take place. I don't know all the options he has, but he certainly does not need to drop out or endorse at this stage.

I for one hope he does neither.

As he said in the speech tonight, any changes right now are of convenience, not conviction. That worries him.

3. What CBS did to Dean this morning
CBS runs "Dean's Campaign Hit with Another Blow after Wisconsin Loss" at 8:42 a.m. today, before people have voted!
.
Showing a photo of Dean in an empty room with only two guys looking at his watch.........implying he had no support.
.
Dean should drop out and swing his support to Edwards and give dems a choice. Edwards has done nothing but compliment Dean for waking people up and he said Dean deserves credit for that. He said many young voters became involved because of Dean and he's right.
.
Edwards is intelligent and can beat Bush hands down. We shouldn't allow the media to choose our candidate.
.
If Kerry wins the nomination I will vote for him but I would prefer John Edwards.

4. All the signs point that way
Deans rise was amazing, but a lot of little things ended up making me doubt if he was ready. One of the latest, if you can't keep your campaign manager onboard and on the same talking points, how well will his administration function keeping on point with world events?

5. I think he will restructure, but I would be surprised if he abandoned
anything to do with helping in the Presidential race. I think he will do something in come capacity to support the effort to beat Bush in the election. He definately won't go off on a self-serving mission or movement at this time. Not right away. He will see this election and the nominee through first.

6. I posted that very thing several times. Signifies end of his campaign.
Bet on it. He will withdraw tomorrow.

7. My wife caught that!
She said, "That was odd. Did you just hear him say 'stuck with us to the end'??

I imagine he is planning his exit as he plans some kind of grassroots organization.

8. It's fairly well known that the unions said they would...
..."stick with him thru Wisconsin", but if he couldn't make progress, they'd have to withdraw support. One of the unions elected to pull out before then, the others stuck thru to when they agreed. I believe that's the "end" he is talking of. There were a couple articles written on the conference call at the time, I'm sure you can find them in a search of the archives.
