I admire Rather's courage to take on this lawsuit now. I believe he is a principled man that was wronged. I believe that he may even have some inside information that gave him the moxie to do this now. When I say inside info - I mean that since he was drummed out of CBS that insiders equally as disgusted as him - told him some things to make him confident that he can win.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the press. Already I'm hearing some talking heads and even cable news people - begin to jump on Rather. I wonder if this will be a concerted effort.

The worst thing that can happen to * right now is that it be proved that there is truth to the TANG - git out of Viet Nam story. We all know - but if this percolates to the general public that Mr. Commander and Chief - who is sending Americans to their death and dismemberment - really did try to get out of serving - he's toast.
