I finally saw the Debate. Biden had the audience in stitches when he made those comments to Richard
son.

Biden was laughing while he said it.
Richardson was laughing.

And if you are going to tell the story - tell it right.

He then went after Hillary & Edwards.

He was in the middle of explaining how HE above the others (leaving Dodd out of the conversation) has the proven ability to work across the aisle. And that's what is going to be needed to get any kind of healthcare done...or any anything done!

What was he doing? Why did he come on so strong?
He was trying to win votes - ****duh****

He also got his biggest round of applause from that.

And the truth is - Biden is RIGHT - he does have the ability to work across the aisle.
If you don't believe me - turn on C-Span right now. Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Sam Brownback are promoting Biden's plan for Iraq.

1. This was really funny and they both were laughing
<Mr. Biden provided some of the lightest moments during the debate.

"My friend from New Mexico here, I'm saying he's a great governor. I'm saying he'll make a great Secretary of State," Mr. Biden said.

Mr. Richardson countered, "Why is Joe picking on me? My only point is I think we need somebody to manage health care. I've been able to do it as a governor. You know, Joe, you seem to be denigrating experience here."

"That's why I think you'd make a great Secretary of State," Mr. Biden replied.>

3. What do people think? That Biden is going to be on his best
behavior, use the same manners he uses in Church while he is trying to break into the top tier?

(Are you both watching him on the Senate floor right now?)

4. You know
I don't really see 'working across the aisle' a boon to a president when the folks across the aisle are mostly extremist, narrow minded, greedy, unsympathetic, warmongering, fearmongering bigots.

And this is why in the grand scheme of things Biden is the only candidate running on the Democratic side that I like LESS than Hillary.

5. Nothing - nothing is ever going to get done in Congress
unless you have people working together.

Is that what you want from our government?

Do you not want to get out of Iraq?
Do you not want healthcare for all?
Solutions to Global Warming?
Equal Education?
Equal Rights?

The only way any of those are ever going to get passed through Congress is if both sides come together.
We do not need more polarization in DC.

6. I'm sorry
But Biden is the least likely to move in the right direction with any of this. We have had over a decade of "bipartisanship" where Democrats promise not to impeach, or fillibuster, or impede legislation.

And what do these "Bipartisans" get us? A bad case of Battered Spouse Syndrome.

Enough I say. Enough Already!

Put someone up who will stand and fight and use the bully pulpit the way that the republicans have ALWAYS used it.

7. We disagree.
I want Congress to work together.

You don't.

You are entitled to your opinion.
I am entitled to mine.

Peace!

8. No.
You want to go forward even if it is off a cliff, I want an real and honest-to-goodness set of oppositional parties (as well as a serious left turn to get us away from said cliff).

The Religious right and the republican party does not compromise. Period. Those few remaining moderate republicans will see which way the wind is blowing and be guardedly and cautiously supportive of a return to rational governning.

You cannot compromise with someone who to burn down your house.

10. Until there are 218 members of the House of Representatives and 66 members of the Senate
who consistently vote with Democrats and a President who doesn't believe in vetoes in Washington D.C. members of Congress will have to compromise and will have to work with people of the other party. All republicans are not of the scorched earth subsection of that party just as all Democrats aren't of the Liberal persuasion. An unwillingness to compromise on either party's part (and that of the Independent members in Congress) create a non-forward moving government. No good for America.

11. Battered spouse syndrome, eh?
... see Biden's "violence against women act" which he got passed by getting a bipartisan consensus over time. Biden has the ability to change people's minds, which is why he would be such a great president. This important legislation would never have gone through if he alienated the entire republican party. What's more important to you? Getting things done or whining and yelling at how bad the other side is?

18. Rethugs get things done
The rethuglicans get a lot of things done by completely shutting out the democrats. No bipartisanship whatsoever. I'd like for the democrats to give partisanship a try and see how far they can take it.

I don't want someone reaching across the aisle unless it is to bitch slap these neo-fascists.

15. Working across the aisle....
is not agreeing to everything the other side wants. Working across the aisle is both sides working TOGETHER to come to a workable conclusion. Is that not what we want? Or do we want to continue not getting anything that either side wants?

17. "I can reach across the aisle and work with the Republicans"

- Joe Leiberman

Unless I see what the fruit of such work is, I remain skeptical and distrusting of the "bipartisanship" meme.

I case anyone noticed, we just got condemned by "bipartisans" yesterday.
