Dean should immediately go to SF...
after his regroup in Burlington, VT.

If you're going to go down in flames anyway why not jump into the SF marriage fray and speak his piece and make an historic statement.

He was the first to sign Civil Unions into law in VT. He started this whole ball rolling to begin with and why shouldn't he take the reigns and ride this bronco to the end?

He has admitted to being uncomfortable with Gay Marriages (has any of the other candidates admitted as much honestly?), but wants to leave it up to the courts.

1,150 delegates on Super Tuesday. I think Dean can win California.

1. I don't think it would help him
first, he hasn't said he's for gay marriage, and it would look like he's jumping on a bandwagon. Second, if he is in favor of it, he can say so without having to go to SF. Third, it would look like he was grubbing for media attention next to the Mayor of San Francisco. It would be unseemly.

All the above is true for any other candidate, too, by the way. Except for Kucinich, who has come out in favor in gay marriage. But even he shouldn't grub for attention that way.

3. I think he's only suggesting this if Dean is going down in flames...
...I think this would be an honorable move if he is bowing out and doesn't intend to run for President again in the future...

4. jumping on the bandwagon?

he started this bandwagon in VT. Why shouldn't he ride it in SF? What has he got to lose? Make a good historical statement to boot. He never said he was against Gay marriages, but that he was uncomfortable with them.

All the candidates have grubbed for attention here in Seattle.

2. That would be fine
but it would not move the numbers. The fundamentals of this race still favor Kerry.

6. agreed...

but Dean is still in second place and has about 1/3 of the delgates of Kerry with 1,150 delegates on Super Tuesday. I think Dean can win California. Kerry is not out of the woods yet,

7. Dean onstage with Newsom ...
would probably be the best thing that could happen to Kucinich!
