Hillary Clinton to host block party
OAKLAND: Sept. 30 event will be a political rally and street festival

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will stage a "Club44 block party" political rally and street festival Sept. 30 in downtown Oakland.
"(T)housands of residents from throughout the Bay Area will spend the afternoon with friends, co-workers, neighbors and family members in support of Hillary Clinton,'' said a news release from the New York senator's campaign.

"Club44" is the campaign's effort, launched this summer in Washington, D.C., to engage women to make history by electing Clinton as the nation's 44th president.

The event, scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Clay Street between 12th and 14th streets -- between the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and City Center --will include live music, entertainment, food vendors and other activities, the campaign said. Local entertainers will perform at the event, but no names have been released yet.

Admission to the event is $20; children under 18 will be admitted free. Tickets are available online at
