On Thursday, best-selling author John Grisham said in an interview with the Des Moines Register that the Bush administration is built around “bad people with evil intent.” “The war is an immoral abomination that we’ll pay for for decades to come,” added Grisham. “We’re paying for it now at the rate of 100 kids a month while Bush plays politics with it.”

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Democrat Hillary Clinton is bringing her presidential campaign to Virginia this month for an event with bestselling author John Grisham, her campaign said Monday.

Clinton will visit the city's Paramount Theater for a discussion with Grisham, author of "The Firm," "A Time to Kill" and other bestselling legal suspense novels.

The Sept. 23 event will mark the second time since July that Clinton has campaigned in Virginia, a state that has supported a Democrat for president only once since 1952. She addressed a gathering of statewide county officials in Richmond in July.

Grisham was a Democratic member of the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1983 to 1990. He now lives with his family near Charlottesville.

...one of my favorite authors...Hillary's campaign just called asking if we had questions for her. The outpouring was spectacular and there were a number of calls before mine.. Ann Lewis is fantastic and took many of the calls while Hillary was wrapping up the Grisham event.

I meant to sign up for it but completely forgot! (I was also hoping to go to the Grisham event, but I don't have a car with me in DC, so I couldn't drive to Charlottesville . . . bummer. Though I did get to see Hillary a couple of weeks ago anyway.)

9. Fantastic..

It was quite an experience. Hillary's campaign is implementing a new format for conference calling, where after a sign up, you get a call from a staff member allowing you to listen in to ongoing Q&A conversations between supporters asking questions and as Hillary is available, her right hand lady, Ann Lewis, answering questions taking turns with callers.

Hillary was running a little behind after the Grisham event, which is totally understandable. I don't know how she does what she does anyway...5 tv interviews this morning and a trip to an event in VA with Grisham. She did get on line with us and thanked us for all our support and how much she appreciated us standing with her through the campaign. She was very gracious, happy we participated in this first time event saying it may be a new format and will try it again when time is not so constrained.

I thought it was a great idea and would highly recommend it to all her supporters in the future. The personal touch is what makes it so special.

10. I just watched The Chamber this afternoon

I read it years ago. For anyone who hasn't read it, it's an excellent story about the KKK and racism in the south, and makes a good case against the dealth penalty.
