4. Look at Congress to find out why
They started off with a bang, and reversed a lot of procedural nonsense the GOP had come up with in their 12 years of glorious rule. Then they started some very important and very public investigations.

Then they stopped dead. The investigations embarrassed a few of the worst parts of this administration sufficiently to step down. Some of them did so after they displayed naked contempt and Congress has yet to follow through on any of it. They were allowed to go with their pensions and the blessings of the country they tried to destroy.

War funding was held hostage to minimum wage increases. That is no longer the case, and now Congress seems ready to fold once again without insisting on a plan to end this murderous misadventure.

There seems to be no plan to fund sCHIP after a pResidential veto, not enough votes to override and not enough Congressmen with backbones to shame the GOP into it.

This next election is Congressional Democrats' to lose, and they seem determined to do just that.

5. That's what happens when people have no say in the process
Since the only choice being shoved down people's throats is between a nebulous Status Quo Insider and a largely unknown commodity who is in the same basic mold, it's not surprising that people have less enthusiasm.

The average swing voter can be tempoted to think "Well hell, since there's not a whole lot of difference, at least Rudy will keep us safe. And he's sorta a social liberal, I guess."

This should be a real CHANGE election. But when people's desire for positive change is stifled, it's no wonder they aren't jumping up and down with enthusiasm.
