1. And, as we know, there is no crime in the Soviet Union. |
|
:sarcasm:
I'm glad this event got to go forward. Hopefully it will dispel the notion that somehow Ahmadinejad only comes across badly because of the US media. This guy needs no filter to sound like a total ass.

3. This is why I'm glad they gave him a forum. . . |
|
. . .allowing him to speak shows the world what type of simple idiot he is. Had we denied him the opportunity we would have looked like we were afraid of what he said. I think all of those who didn't want him to speak should be ashamed of themselves.

brilliant minds like limbaugh and hannity were outraged (outraged I say) that this man would talk at a bastion of liberalism. As you well know they only want certain peoples thoughts transmitted in any public venue. I would encourage Columbia and other Universities to invite klan leaders to speak as well (of course without their hoods, but that would be a deal breaker.)

16. OK so Ahmandinajad is not such a swell guy, and neither is Kim in North Korea |
|

And I probably don't want to have a beer with Syria's President either now that I think of it, not that I would want to have one with ours mind you. And I also suspect I would find few tempting drinking partners on the list of third world heads of state that the U.S. sells arms to for that matter.
Not that Bush Administration policy makers are asking me or anything, but since when does the U.S. go to war based on how comfortable we are with the views of other nation's leaders? Which is not to confuse Ahmandinajad with being Iran's leader either, now that I think of it, because he ain't. He has less power inside Iran than Nancy Pelosi does here.

Why do people allow their perspective to be totally defined by Bush? Is he the center of everything? Apparently so for some people.

17. According to my girlfriend... |
|
Who is Tehrani, she translated what he said as "we do not have homosexuals in the way you have them here". Not meaning they literally have no homosexuals, but that homosexuality is not as pervasive. Of course it might just not be as pervasive due to the whole executing them thing....

18. No Homosexuals, probably not. |

Muslim RULES: You steal, - Chop the hand(s) off that stole.
Adultery - Stoned to death.
Denounce/criticize the religion - death
These are stated criminal laws. If you are homosexual, you better stay deeeeeeeep in the closet. I agree with him, they are none. Price is way to stiff. Men are superior to women. Women are considered second class citizens. Where does that place gays in Iran? Over there it's a man's world period. Chances for homosexual survival? Slim or none. Let me rephrase: none.
