Well Howard, it really was a great run and you accomplished a LOT |
|
His speech last night was correct. Basically the Dean campaign has succeeded in, for the most part, writing the platform of the Dem Party this year. Even though he failed in his presidential bid, he did open the door for sustained criticism of Bush and a return to the core values of the Dem Party.
So for that he has my gratitude and longterm respect.

1. But you chose to vote for someone else? |
|
Because? Do you like the way things have always been. Because that is most likely what we will continue to get.

I haven't voted yet. But yes, I picked Edwards because I liked him the best.

from me stating that ALL of the candidates have added much to the political debate and the democratic process. I have been able to be much more positive about Dean and the other candidates as I have been able to be about some...some... of his more vocal supporters, however.
Those of us who have supported other candidates are not doing so simply because we are too stupid to support your candidate. Perhaps we support others because, being as intelligent and as informed as you obviously are, OUR priorities were simply different from yours, and our NEEDS were different from yours. We are not robots to be manipulated by the media.
I actually have supported a Kerry for president candidacy since he declined to run in the 2000 campaign. Long before Howard Dean became a candidate. I supported John Kerry as Gore's VP choice.

2. No doubt. While this may officially end his bid for the Presidency |
|
I hope it is the beginning of another political career for him. He has done so much good for this party and I hope he still makes an impact.
GO DEAN! You deserve far more credit than you will probably ever get.

6. Again, inspired by his speech last night |
|
Will probably shed some tears today when he officially ends his campaign. Dean did so much good this primary season, he will never be forgotten in my eyes.

7. Nothing has changed... |

...and nothing will change.
The institutional Democratic Party in this country is like the Bourbon dynasty of France, who, upon their post-Napoleon restoration, were said to learned nothing and have forgotten nothing.
Oh, well, whatever.
