Kerry + Edwards = Perfect Candidate |
|
Here is my thought: Let's take the military record and stature of John Kerry and combine it with the charm, good looks, optimism, and rags to riches southern roots of John Edwards, and I think we'll have the perfect candidate. If only genetic engineering weren't outlawed by the Republican Congress ...

2. Their voting records are too similiar |
|
Won't fly with GOP Women and Independents. It it their votes that will pick the winner in Nov.
Our votes are needed, and we will vote for ABB, but please do not mistake what you preceive to be a dream team, can translate to GOP Women and Independents.

7. I am so concerned that the 200 million that Bush |
|
has will buy the "Give him 4 more years to finish the job" message that when the swing voters look at Kerry's record vs. Bush, they won't find a compelling reason to vote for Kerry.
I know the difference, but do people who can't name their Gov. or Senator and vote....will they bother to take the time to find out the difference?
History tells us that most voters are woefully uninformed.
This year will be no different.
Look at how the 2000 campaign painted Bush and Gore as being the same, so people just voted for a "new tone in the White House" B.S. If voters understood the difference, then Gore would have won by a safe margin and there would not have been wiggle room for a challange.
200 million is a lot of money.

so that Kerry can put 40,000 more troops into Iraq ASAP, while "no remorse" Edwards cheers.

Edwards can bring in younger voters. AND, if he pulls in just one southern state, that may make the difference.

9. In theory, I think it sounds good |
|
But in practice, I don't think it really make sense . . . and the reason is that Edwards is just a damn much better campaigner than Kerry. Edwards has tons of charisma and a real gift for speaking to people, and you really can't have a VP who is better at that stuff than the Pres nominee. I think there is a strong possibility that Edwards would overshadow Kerry on the stump, and the nominee really wouldn't like that.

Sorry, misread the original post.
As Matt says above, we had that candidate already. And he slipped thru our fingers.
