Poll question: New unofficial rule request: Identify diaries/blogs under umbrellas sites like Kos & Smirking Chimp |
|
I don't own the site and I don't make the rules.
But I think those of us who are regular posters in GD-P can do some minor self policing.
We had some success with our informal agreement not to post Rasmussen's daily tracking poll everyday (mixed results but I was pretty happy with how it worked out).
Now I ask if people when posting diaries/blogs from Kos or Smirking Chimp or another "umbrella" site identify it as such.
When you put just DailyKos or Smirking Chimp in the subject headline with an excerpt and no author indicated, it gives the impression that Kos or Smirking Chimp are the ones behind the sentiment.
Would you take a thread from GD-P and simply identify it as DU?
Now I realize that people should click and read links regardless of this situation and that is where most of the confusion stems from.
But knowing the existence of that human foible and continuing to post in a fashion failing to identify the actual author makes it seem that the poster is trying to deceive by lending credibility to a sentiment that does not exist.
So what say ye DU?
