2. I completely agree with Edwards and after tonight, if Hillary is the nominee, I will not vote for |
|
her....I'm sorry but I can't do it....even if it means a Republican for President...

5. That's why many of us have to work hard to make sure she ISN'T the Nominee... |

I don't want it to be an election with a choice between the lesser of two evils....

24. I realized after listening to a recent interview |
|
and hearing her in the debate last night that I really like her on domestic issues, but her ideas on foreign policy issues, particularly Iraq and terrorism, I am not comfortable with. I had just decided I would vote for her, but I don't like her vote on the Lieberman/Kyl amendment, and I don't like what she says about keeping residual troops in for whatever reasons she claims. (I can only accept the presence of military to protect the embassy.)

14. Think of the Supreme Court |
|
In the next few years there will be at least one, and probably three vacancies, all by liberal justices.
Wouldn't it be ironic if the left will help Bush fulfill his "legacy" of a court full of Scalias and Thomases?
You can kiss good bye to all the safeguards that we still have on freedom of speech, on freely posting on DU with no fear of being jail (in spite of what many on DU claiming our is a "fascist country") and, of course, you can say good bye to freedom of choice.
The Supreme Court has always been in the balance, starting in 1988, I think, however with 11 nominations by Republican presidents, this one is the most crucial one.
And if you don't care about the Supreme Court, than nothing else matters because whatever is important to you will be irrelevant and lost forever before the 2012 elections.

15. Your right....And I really don't want to have to vote holding my nose anymore (have done it too many |
|
times - Feinstein is an example). I don't want a Scalia Court and I do care.
But before I have to go there (voting for Hillary) I will work hard to get someone else nominated as the nominee for President from the Democratic Party.

20. Great. DU is a marvelous arena for people to |
|
work on behalf of their candidates, and their ideas, and, yes, even trashing others.
And I understand your dislike to vote while holding one's nose... I actually did this in 1992 when voted for Clinton..
But come November, the Supreme Court will the the only issue and I hope that all of us, Democrats and Independent and even moderate Republicans will remember this.

That was what was disastrous about our not winning the 2004 presidency. I think the run-of-the-mill voter doesn't consider these things.

25. If more people voted for what was right for our country, |
|
we could beat this and be in a better position. For some reason when people make a stand and say they wont vote for her if she is the nominee, they are chastised. If more people had a conscience and thought about what could happen to our future if we vote the wrong person in, we could have a democrat in office that we wanted, not one that the media and the corporations want. What would happen if people opened their eyes and made a compromise and the polls showed her losing? The way it looks, the Clinton supporters think that all democrats should compromise and vote for Clinton so we have a democrat in office but they wont even compromise now, knowing that she hurts our chances at getting in office. They refuse to budge its their candidate or bust. This is a stupid way of choosing a president when our country is in a crucial time in its history.
The democratic nominee will be the next president, so why do we take who the media gives us? In my opinion, Dennis Kucinich has been the loudest voice for the people in these campaigns, constantly fighting the corrupt system. Who else has in to the floor in defense of our constitution? Who else has went to the floor wanting investigations into the Hunt oil scheme in Iraq? Who else has went to the floor to repeal the patriot act? Who else wants non profit health care for all? It goes on and on with him and I don't see front runner Clinton standing up and doing shit for the people.

8. I've Commented On That Laugh Many Times... It IRKS Me... And |
|
Edwards really did politely state what he thought about HER vote today! That answer SHOULD get some play, but WILL IT??
MSM, has Hillary on their mind! She's NOT doing well tonight, at least not for me. Seems Gravel with some of his "bombs" look better than she does.

He effectively took a vote the media mostly ignored and hung it around Clinton's neck like an albatross.

It will take until 2013. FUCK ANYONE RUNNING FOR OFFICE WHO SAYS IT WILL TAKE UNTIL 2013 TO GET OUR TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ...
Here's the nasty little not so secret fact - both Hil and Bar were mouthing this theme 'well it could take 12 to 24 months to leave iraq' - that was five, six weeks ago. now they've take the 24 months, the high end and doubled. THANK YOU BOTH, I LOVE THE TRUTH AND YOU JUST SHOWED YOUR TRUE COLORS.
Bought, sold, shipped COD to the citizens of this great country who are about to get another screwing if we don't get the hell out.
And GOOD GRIEF, the Iraqi's want us out.
ON EDIT: If any of you Edwards supporters want to give me grief for saying Edwards wasn't a good choice because he voted for the Iraq resolution, take a number. I'm in a repenting mood. He stood up on IRAN! Damn, I want him just madder than a hornet...I know he has it in him.

Though I still don't understand an Presidential campaign that essentially repudates both his Senate career and his 2004 run.

I'm swinging back to favoring him over the others again. I'm also looking at Dodd or even Biden with more seriousness.
