Let’s face it, my fellow Democrats, we are the most evil people who have ever populated what was once a great and democratic nation.
We constantly whine about upholding the Constitution (“As Americans, we have rights, we have freedoms,” blah, blah, blah), while our GOP friends have moved forward and accepted the fact that when an incoherent, incompetent idiot like G.W. Bush is in the Oval Office, we should all abandon such ridiculous notions and defer to his better judgment – that better judgment being based on his lower-than-average academic achievements, his business failures, and his inability to pronounce the names of countries without a cheat sheet.
Of course, our most consistent cause for belly-achin’ is Bush’s role as Commander-in-Chief – and surely his National Guard duty during the Viet Nam years (even though the fulfillment of that duty has yet to be confirmed some thirty-years-plus later) should be enough for we lefties to assume that Mister Cushy-Placement During a Time of War knows what the f*ck he’s doing when he sends ill-equipped troops into combat on a mission that has yet to be defined, based on military strategy that changes as often as one of his trusted and beyond reproach flunkies replaces the last flunkie who inadvertently told the truth about our chances of victory being nil.
After all, he does have Dick “Five Deferments” Cheney to rely on for good advice in military matters, not to mention the PNAC Boys, who have been so dead-on accurate in their assessments of the Iraq Debacle. (Hey, who among us can validly argue that we weren’t greeted as liberators, or that this war hasn’t paid for itself, along with all of the other predictions of this never-been-wrong-yet bunch of yahoos?)
On the domestic side of the equation, we Damned Democrats continue to waste the nation’s time complaining about hackable voting machines, tax-cuts for corporations that outsource American jobs, insurance companies whose profit-margins depend on denying medical treatment to the sick and dying, an ever-failing education system, a crumbling infrastructure – yadda, yadda, yadda.
Apparently, we are just too damned stupid to understand that spending billions per month on a war that has been losing ground since day one is a winning proposition.
So you’re losing your house, you’re losing your job, you can’t talk to your grandma without Agent Mike listening in, you might get picked up on the street, declared an enemy combatant without evidence, wind up in prison for years without charge or access to legal counsel, have your house searched without a warrant, have your mail opened without your knowledge or permission, have your tax dollars simply go missin’ in the Fog of War, have your house expropriated so an administration crony can build a sub-standard, million-dollars-per-unit condo, have to live in a toxic trailer because your home, along with your entire city, has been destroyed by a hurricane while your so-called president is strummin’ a guitar after having been warned of the devastation about to be unleashed – so what exactly is your point?
Quit yer bitchin’, people. Don’t you know that there are more important things than your kids having to pay off a national debt so big it defies description, more important than your Constitutional rights being flushed down the toilet while your own sons and daughters are dying in Iraq to preserve those rights and freedoms that no longer exist?
Can’t you grasp the concept that there are more important things in life – things like Halliburton’s bottom-line, alienating countries who used to stand with us, creating more terrorists and inciting enmity in the already-volatile Middle East?
People, we have got to get with the program! It’s time to STOP our incessant complaining about out-moded ideas like democracy. It’s time to STOP crybabyin’ at things like tax dollars being spent on proven-to-be-ineffective Abstinence Only sex ed programs and START ignoring those teenaged unwed mothers who turn into Welfare Queens! It’s time to STOP whining about the traditional (and Constitutional – jeez, there’s THAT word again!) separation of Church and State, and put our support behind the Fundie whackos who can deliver the vote to the highest bidder!
It’s time to STOP ignoring the truth about the agenda of homosexuals who are out to destroy traditional relationships, the truth about all Muslims being terrorists who are out to destroy our shopping malls – and yes, the truth about all Democrats being fanatical freedom-huggers who want to undermine our nation with things like the rule of law.
It’s time to STOP believing in things like democracy and START believing in the Supreme Righteousness of the president (until there’s a Democrat in the White House, in which case all of the above ideas will be immediately rescinded).
It’s time to STOP caring about the environment when it cuts into corporate profits, STOP talking about health care for all citizens, STOP pointing fingers at government officials who are corrupt and/or hypocrites, and STOP wanting nonsensical garbage like rights and justice.
When are we professional whiners going to STOP the harping, and START accepting the status quo as the Republicans have defined it for us?
When?
Well, I’m hoping the answer is NEVER – even though, let’s face it, we ARE so obviously the face of evil.
