IMO, Obama has reached that point where knows he cannot win or realizes he is not
ready for the job. He now must decide to pretend or get out gracefully. I think he will drop out within the next week or two.

7. Strong Edwards supporter here, but also an admirer of Senator Obama.
Edited on Thu Sep-27-07 01:09 AM by Old Crusoe
He's second in line in current polling -- not a bad place to be at all -- and there's a buck or two in the cookie jar for a rainy day this fall.

Barack Obama stays in the race and places ahead of HClinton in Iowa.

51. Very possible. He's well-liked there with good organization.
a poll released today showed the "top 3" Dems bunched closely together.

It's going to be a barn-burner, and I wouldn't count Gov. Richardson or Sen. Biden out at all.

8. Sooner rather than later, the peace Democrats will have to coalesce around one anti-Hillary
candidate, or else we will still be in Iraq fighting a losing battle at the end of Hillary's second term. And God knows how many Israeli crimes will Hillary condone between now and then.

29. I don't see it happening
I don't see all of Edwards and Kucinich's supporters suddenly switching to Obama just because he has the most support according to all the national polls.

Most of Edwards' and Kucinich's supporters are convinced that their guy is better than Obama.

I also think it's wrong to think in terms of looking for an "anti-Hillary".

We need to look at each candidate's strengths. "Not Hillary" is not a strength.

And discussing senate voting requirements is also "gutter politics"? Sounds to me like "gutter politics" to you is anything that doesn't explicitly praise Obama.

48. You are confusing a political hatchet job for analysis.
Edited on Thu Sep-27-07 04:03 PM by AtomicKitten
HRC supporters love to play bait and switch, slamming Obama for not voting on the pre-Iran invasion measure when HILLARY VOTED YES on it, slamming Obama for cosponsoring legislation along with almost 70 others INCLUDING HILLARY regarding Iran a few years back, and the hypocritical hits keep on coming.

You are confusing a cheesy hypocritical political hatchet job on Obama for "political analysis."
Gotta wear hip boots around here sometimes.

49. Point taken.
I attempted to take the OP as independent analysis, rather than as an anti-Obama / pro-HRC lob. (I thought this was more of a riff on Michelle Obama's assertions that they needed to win Iowa.)

Having done a little more research into the posting histories involved, I'm no longer quite so inclined to give the benefit of the doubt.
