Obama Supporters Futily Search For The Knock Out Punch... |
|
Boxing fans love the KO punch. But most fights are won on the score cards after one boxer wears down his/her opponent over the course of 12 rounds... Hillary Clinton wins that way while Obama supporters are looking for the KO punch.
Obama is a fresh face with superior judgment and a conciliatory approach... POW! Clinton still comes out for the next round...
Obama outraises Clinton in the money sweepstakes... POW! Clinton still leads every score card by double digits.
Obama gets the Oprah endorsement... POW! Clinton ducks the uppercut and lands a straight right.
Clinton's health care plan still includes corporate middlemen... POW! Clinton leads in all Democratic subsets... men, women, blacks, hispanics...
Ohh boy! She voted for that Iran bill. Now, really and truly this time for real, no kidding, the dismantling of Hillary will begin really really this time...
No... the only way YOUR candidate will defeat Hillary Clinton is if he takes her on... but he doesn't seem willing to do it. Last night, the #1 contender had the opportunity to KO a champion who wasn't quite on her game. Unfortunately he either lacked the will or the ability to do it.
You may believe Sen. Clinton doesn't deserve to hold the DNC Heavyweight Championship belt, but after last night, Obama doesn't deserve to be the #1 contender. John Edwards does. Joe Biden Does. Dennis Kucinich does.
Obama is a lightweight trying to fight in the heavyweight division.

He didn't vote period. In fact, earlier this year he CO-SPONSORED a resolution that was nearly identical to the one voted on yesterday: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3555043

2. Sure, kick him between the legs when he has a bad head cold. Courageous. |
|
Fine, let's all agree Obama is a little twit who has no standing to be in this race whatsoever and worthy only of getting on his knees and begging forgiveness for wasting the nation's time by attempting to provide hope, when what the nation desires and requires is a clubbing across the face. Let's ALL AGREE that Obama is exactly the opposite of what this nation requires. What this nation needs is Hillary Clinton!!!

3. Polling has a way of changing as summertime turns to fall. |
|
The first snowflakes are yet to cover the Iowa farmlands and small towns, and the voters there will make up their minds toward a final commitment to candidates when they're good and ready to.
Once that happens, current polling might be reflected, or current polling may be as obsolete by Dec. 1st as Lieberman's lead in 04, Gephardt's lead in 04, or Dean's lead in 04.
Ain't over til it's over.

5. I'm out the door right now, William769 but will hunt them down in |

various polls tonight when we get back.
All of the 04 leads by Lieberman, Dean, and Gephardt exceeded differentials of any of the 08 candidates, however.
My emphasis is on the volatility of early polls versus final percentage outcomes.

6. Obama's sniffles stops debate: |
|
From Politico:
“Meanwhile Clinton’s other leading rival, Obama, seemed almost to vanish for much of the late-evening debate. He ignored the advice of pundits to confront Clinton, delivering just one careful criticism of her having run an overly closed health care reform process in 1993.
Aides, when asked, said the candidate had a cold.”

29. It may have been strategically smart and politically savvy for her to not answer questions...r |
|
to not put any solutions on the table regarding SS, for example.
For many, that simply serves to reinforce the problem with Hillary - it's always a *political* calculus...very little real leadership.

Won't be kept...
And she was absolutely correct. Unless you know what steps will be taken to get the governments fiscal house back in order, it is simply pandering to propose solutions that depend upon that as a prerequisite...

38. Why do they consider it an insult to say "well, Obama's raised more money than Hillary"? |
|
Obama raises all this money, yet greatly lags behind Hillary in the polls. If Obama is, as his supporters claim, such a great candidate, AND one that raises all this money, then why can't he come within 20% of Hillary's popularity?
