Who chooses the moderators of these debates? I'd like to nominate Jon Stewart |
|
to moderate the next Democratic debate. His questions will be less boring and funnier than Russert's. Who knows? Maybe we'll even learn something!

1. Or how about just not hostile? |
|
I watched some of the debate last night... is that how they've all gone?
I have to wonder if they're as bad with the repukes.

5. No, the others have not been as blatantly contrary and aggressive as Russert was, IMHO. |

I'd love to see him suffer no fools right in front of the fools' faces.

4. I'd like to see knowledgeable people from various disciplines... |
|
For example, look to the local college for questioners. Select from political science, humanities, science, American history, medicine, etc. Let them ask the questions.
Picking media personalities is limiting. They're usually too big on themselves and not nearly the omniscient truth-seekers they want everyone to believe they are.

9. i think i would also like to see arundhati roy moderate one of those debates too ... |
|
mainly one of the republican debates. margaret atwood would be another good choice for a moderator. And, wouldn't it be lovely to see a debate betwen two republican candidates and two democratic candidates with none of this crap of three minutes to answer and one for rebuttal. it would be good, enlightening and heartening to hear them speak without some 450 lb. piece of lard inserting his agenda into the debate every two seconds.

11. Russert did a great job. |
|
I don't want a moderator pitching softballs and letting candidates get away with parroting BS talking points.
