He however, is committing to public financing in the primary.

Just to clear the air.

3. Just having to clarify this is going to hurt him.
I'm not sure why he didn't just ride his performance from last night.

4. Thank you for the clarification.
I retract my earlier rant based on his committing to PF for the GE.

5. It means he's out of money between May and August.
Unelectable--he won't be able to fight back against the Republican slime machine.

or as Joe Trippi put it so well during his last campaign job...."“This campaign believes that any Democratic campaign that opted into the matching-funds system has given up on the general election,” Trippi said in December of 2003. “There is absolutely no way you can sustain the hits that are going to come from now until August with a $45 million limit.”

and those thinking that we've got this one won aren't make Edwards as the nominee fighting with our hands tied behind his back any the better.

Some of February, and all of March, April, May, June, July and August is enough time to do real damage even if we were running Mother Theresa!

This decision is to help John Edwards in a short run, but in the long run, it handicaps him...and at the same time, if he turns out to be the nominee, it will hurt us as plenty as well.
