Two words come to mind after seeing tonight's GOP debate:
Holy crap.

And an aside: the best moment of the debate was hearing Alan Keyes explain why he supports the federal death penalty: "It's about respect for life."

2. Those people are SCARY
Edited on Thu Sep-27-07 10:14 PM by nam78_two
I would sincerely request anyone who is unenthusiastic about all of the Democratic candidates to watch these guys a few times. Collection of socio and psychopaths. Not ONE who is even barely human. I am supporting John Edwards, but I would vote for Carrot Top if it would keep one of these loons from becoming POTUS. The country and the world couldn't stand for it I tell you....Not this again.

Guiliani, Romney, Tancredo, Brownback ....God -collection of insane people :puke:. The thought of one of these becoming the POTUS is chilling.

4. It would be like a smarter version of Bush
Check out Canada. We have Harper, who is simply a smarter Bush. I would probably compare him to Romney. He has a minority government (he can't do anything without the support of AT LEAST one other party), and he's still fucked up this country worse than ever. I shudder to think what unchecked power in the hands of any one of those candidates would do.

6. Yes Harper is awful
Howard is another one. Quite a few somewhat smarter, but just as AWFUL conservatives in power the world over. No wonder the world is going to hell in handbasket.

12. With luck, we can get Alan Keyes back to our (Iowa) town
to inspire us some more. He was here in 2000. Boy, that seems a long time ago. I guess time doesn't fly when you are having a good time.

13. Keyes is a particularly ripe nut.
He was a source of astonished amusement for Illinoisans when he was picked out of the fruitcake known as the Republican Party and imported to that state to run against Obama.

LOVE your photo - do you mind if I use it?

It's exactly how I was feeling this morning as I just finished listening to the Gore UN speech from earlier this week. I needed the endorphins. Thanks for the laugh.

21. Of course you may use it.
I feel this way every few hours or so. :-)

And my apologies go to Edward Albee and the superb cast of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf."

An excellent piece of American Dramaturgy and film-making. Highly recommended.

Albee is well known in my home. We make jokes about how our dialogue sometimes veers toward Albee-esque. Figures I would enjoy this photo then. Ha.

Must confess I stole it right away... I know, my bad. Asking permission as I am opening up my photobucket acct...
I conveniently blame the * admin for my declining morals.

But for the good of our nation, we're hoping to get Wetzelbill on as Gore's Vice-president. ;-)

19. His cool daughter Maya persuaded Keyes to surf Moore's mosh pit
Now she is over 18 and Alan Keyes refuses to support her through college.

She has basically been disowned by her parents because she is gay.

This came up recently in "Conservative Idiots" here on DU.
