Interesting words from Joe Biden.... |
|
Dear Friend,
Thank you for joining JoeBiden.com.
I truly believe the next century will be a new American century. But it will require vision from our leaders and faith in our purpose. I am running for president because I believe we can stem the tide by restoring respect for America's leadership in the world, and by changing our priorities as a nation.
Hundreds of millions of dollars are being squandered today on unnecessary tax breaks for the top one percent of wage-earners, on tax breaks for oil companies that don't need them, and on our failed policy in Iraq.
Imagine what we could do if we could re-focus those resources on healthcare, education, and building opportunity for the middle class. The next president of the United States has an unparalleled opportunity to do this and more.
It is within our power to literally change the world, and re-energize America. The world is ready, America is ready and I am ready!
Please ask everyone you know to visit JoeBiden.com and learn more about my vision for America. Ask them to sign up to our email list and join our efforts.
I believe with every fiber of my being that we are up to this task. And I look forward to working with you in the days and months ahead.
Thank You.
Joe Biden

How come building opportunity for the middle class always involves a tax credit that doesn't help the working people at all, and is so small that it's useless to the top 10%.

5. Ah- the tax cut Biden wants will generate 85 billion in revenue |
|
"The war in Iraq is costing this nation over $100 billion a year. Tax cuts for the wealthiest one percent – those who make an average of $1.4 million a year – are costing more than $85 billion a year. Joe Biden believes it is time for new priorities. By ending the war and repealing the George Bush’s tax cuts for the top one percent of Americans, we will gain an additional $185 billion a year in revenue that Joe Biden would put to better uses by investing in education and making preschool available to all, improving health care, extending tax breaks for college tuition, doubling investments in alternative energy technology, upgrading neglected infrastructure and improving homeland security." And I've read his health care plan and it doesn't even get close to universal coverage. This is the same middle class tax stuff that I've heard for 20 years now, and it isn't doing anything for working people.
