AFN Response:

First, thanks for your input. AFN has an obligation, backed by Congressional mandate, to provide our audience access to the same variety and diversity of programming that they would enjoy if they were back in the States. Because political talk radio is among the most popular stateside radio formats, AFN currently offers four political radio talk shows on our AFN|radio schedule: Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity represent the conservative viewpoint and Ed Schultz and Alan Colmes represent the liberal viewpoint.

We make our choices based on popularity with the American audience and we don't censor programs. Please remember that AFN strives to provide its overseas audience with a choice and lets them decide for themselves what they want to see and hear. There is no requirement for our audience to listen to anything they personally disagree with. To review the balance we strive to achieve via the totality of our radio and TV schedules, please visit

http://www.myafn.net. Again, thanks for your input, and for your service. V/R AFN Affiliate Relations

1. They don't provide that diversity of programming. They are lying. ALAN COLMES!!??
I would reply to them that Alan Colmes is Fox propaganda and that Rush is not a point of view but a presentation of falsehoods and lies.

2. AFN does NOT offer diversity in their programing.
They have allowed the right wing to go on air for years and years without any rebuttal.
Schultz and Colmes are not enough to compete with the shit that the right wing spews out.

3. So they are saying that the conservative viewpoint is that U. S. soldiers are phoney.
I'm glad that they clarified that. The official stance of the Armed Forces Radio is that the conservative viewpoint is that U.S. soldiers are phoney, and the AFR is committed to allowing that conservative viewpoint to be heard.

4. Ed Schultz and Alan Colmes were the best they could find to represent the liberal viewpoint?!!

Why isn't Randi Rhodes or Thom Hartmann on??????????????
What a crock of crapola. Now we know that they are also under the thumb of BushCo cohorts. 3 out of 4 of their programs have people of whom FAUX NOISE approves....:puke:
What does that tell you?????????????

6. ALAN COLMES?!
LOL, why even have a liberal voice on the radio at all if Colmes is the best you can do? He's less than useless as a counter to Limbaugh and Hannity, imo.

If they really wanted bare-knuckled liberals who would provide an alternative viewpoint, which judging by Colmes' inclusion, they clearly don't, they would have someone like Thom Hartmann on, instead.

7. I hope every member of the armed forces DOES hear
Limbaugh call dissenters "phony soldiers".

They need to know what a bunch of disgusting chickenhawks the hotshots who cheerlead this war really are.
