The GOP Is Trying To Get The Weakest Democrat To Run Against |
|
Just as Gray Davis worked to get the opponent HE wanted to run against.
That so many on this forum find it difficult to believe that the GOP, their whore media and voting minions wouldn't do their utmost to ensure that the STRONGEST Democrats are run out of the Primary while at the same time supporting the WEAKEST Democrat for Bush to run against... is niave and erroneous, IMO.
This isn't Tinfoil.
It's Politics 101.
THE DAY Clark left the race, after he was essentially assasinated by the Media, the GOP Mean Machine brought out the Kerry Intern Lie. And included Clark into just for extra added benefit.
My 2 cents.

4. So this means Dean was the strongest candidate? |
|
...since the media worked so hard to take down Dean...
The media attention has shifted dramatically throughout this primary season, so anything you bring up can be contradicted by something that happenned a few weeks ago.
The GOP Machine will always attack the frontrunner because that is who they are most likely to face. No tinfoil hat conspiracies. It's just that simple.

6. Always has to be the media that took down Dean |
|
Dean was the media darling for all the months between July and December, when Dena started getting too arrogant. WHen they actaulklt started printing the truth about Dean, or finally Dean had o be closely compared to other candidates, his camapign collapsed for lack of substance, nothing else.
Dean is only credited for starttig all of the rage against Bush and Washington, becauuse he started campaigningin September of 2001,more than a year before the other candidates even thought of running, all others waiting for Gore to decide.
Dean did nothing that would not have happened anywaywhen other candidates started running.
Giving him credit for doing the inevitable because he was the first person to start running is incredulous.

25. Edwards had written off OK. Clark was trying to win it. |
|
Edited on Wed Feb-18-04 05:14 PM by AP
I'm sure if you look at the last three days of campaigning, you'll see this to be the case.
Edwards tried hard to win OK up to the last three days. When they didn't see movement in the polls they moved on. Clark kept pushing and thought he had it in the bag.

Wes Clark entered the fucking campaign 5 SHORT months ago. He was the fastest learner I've ever seen! He beat Edwards in NH...who had a "bounce" from Iowa and STILL came in 4th! He beat Edwards in OK, NM, ND, and AZ. He's never been in politics and hadn't run a 2 year long campaign like Edwards has. Pathetic campaign skills? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! The man is a GENIUS compared to Edwards and MUCH more qualified to be president than a Jr. Senator from NC.. :eyes:

20. I'm sure Clark is very proud he beat Edwards in states |
|
that JRE didn't campaign in like AZ, NM and ND. Also, that was quite an accomplishment by Clark garnering 12% of the vote in NH, and beating Edwards by a few hundred votes, after dumping all his time, focus, energy and money there while everybody else was in Iowa. Look at the States where both Edwards and Clark campaigned...SC, Ok, TN, VA. Furthermore, look at Edwards' surge in every state he spent time in compared to Clark's slide. These are facts, not conspiracies.

Also, why did some of the enthusiastic Bush supporters vote for Kerry?

22. They aren't that smart..... |

The choice of Kerry so far has been well documented as a strong consensus that the democratic base wants to ensure a victory against Bush. They see him as presidential and appealing. Although he may not have the ultimate democratic message perfected as compared to the others, and he may not embody or project the persona of a particular strong democratic message, the point is this....
The party will give him an opportunity to go in front of undecided voters and make his case. In this respect, he may have a better chance of winning swing voters than the other candidates.
From a party perspective, Dean was a long shot, although his message was invigorating. Clark lacked experience in politics. He probably would have been the best in a one on one against Bush because of his wonderful "anti-right wing" message....but there was too much risk associated with seeing him go all the way. He wasn't as exposed in terms of background or potential skeletons as Kerry.
So what you have left is what are considered the most appealing. Don't despair. These guys are just fine. Although they may not have presented themselves as the ideal democratic vision or walked the walk of any one ideal democratic president that we might envision....they do get it....or at least enough of it to counter the overwhelming crap that W has heaped upon us.
The issue now which can't be blown is the VP choice. The only real gripe I have is that the party is not so intelligent when it comes to the electoral college.
I think it's time to start thinking Kerry/Edwards. It's something we should be lobbying for.

The right wing media started attacking Clark during the draft movement and still hasn't stopped. What I don't understand is why when the GOP was spreading out and out lies about Clark no one in the DNC stood up for him. A perfect example is when the GOP took parts of one of Clarks speeches trying to make it look like he supported the war in Iraq. When if you read his speech it clearly states that Clark did not support the war. Then there was the Michael Moore statement that Bush was a deserter. Clark had to take all of the heat himself untill the media started showing clips of Kerry in 2000 having questions about Bushs guard service. The next day Terry McAuliffe was up front and center for Kerry. I don't remember the name of the person that said it first but it still holds true today. General Wesley Clark is Karl Roves worst nightmare.
