Papa has a new ad about him being a POW in Nam. Fucking hypocrite he told Kerry to stop talking up the fact that he was a decorated war hero so now he's using the same tactics.

2. What did he learn as a POW in Vietnam?
That starting quagmires in foreign countries for dubious purposes is okay?
That "not torturing" people by water-boarding, hours of "stress positions", and endless interrogation is okay?

3. What a hypocrite - especially as Kerry did NOT speak of being a war hero
His comments spoke of having "served". The only time I remember him mentioning that he got prestigious medals was either to answer a question or in the speech before the firefighters that simply listed the medals and said that the Navy gave them to him and the truth was what it was for 35 years.

McCain has used his POW status constantly - and even ok ed a movie on it.

The funny think is that Kerry was far more an example of what you think a hero was - he saved a life, risking his and he devised a successful strategy to minimize the chance that he and the men with him would die in the type of ambushes the standard method couldn't avoid. (In fact, I wish Kerry would have used some of the Rassman footage at the end of the campaign (in a collage of his campaign matybe- it was one of the few really genuine things I ever saw in politics. It would have signaled that he would not let the liars take what was his.)
