CAS freshman: "Barack Obama is the most gangster politician to ever come to Washington..."
Edited on Sat Sep-29-07 08:32 AM by jefferson_dem

"Barack Obama is the most gangster politician to ever come to Washington," CAS freshman Lou Guberti said. Asked if Obama would get his vote, Guberti answered, "Hell yeah!"

2. Is 5 more years in Iraq gangster?

For a Democrat, Options in Iraq Could Be Few
Hopefuls Seen as Unlikely To Effect Rapid Change

PentaPost (WashPost)9/29/2007

In their debate Wednesday night in Hanover, N.H., none of the three top Democratic presidential
candidates would promise to have the U.S. military out of Iraq by January 2013 -- more than five
years from now.

"I think it would be irresponsible" to state that, said Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.).

"I cannot make that commitment," added former senator John Edwards of North Carolina.

And Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) put it simply when she outlined the dilemma that Democratic presidential aspirants face on Iraq. "It is very difficult to know what we're going to be inheriting," the party's front-runner said.

------------

He drank the cool aid, so did Edwards and so has HRC.

Come to think of it, it is gangster...all of them...

3. is that supposed to be a compliment?
there is NOTHING related to the term "gangster" that is complimentary.

maybe obama should have his ass showing, too. then maybe we could smell his shit.

then he would be REAL gangsta.

do i also see spastic arm and hand movements, complete with limp-walk, while cas freshman is emoting?

maybe cas freshman needs to grow up before entering a voting booth.

6. Get out from behind your computer and into the "real world"...
why don't ya?

The *truth* lies well beyond your simpleton stereotypes and potty-mouthed imagery.

10. It's like you enjoy the fact that you're completely out of touch...
... with a large voting block.

5. As Michelle so often reminds us, Obama is no messiah
The photo has caught Obama in an unfortunate and I suspect fleeting pose. Obama doesn't present himself as a messiah, but as someone who like us is sick and tired of being sick and tired. That's plenty good enough for me.

7. This article was posted by an Obama supporter last night
She famously told USA Today that Barack is not the “next messiah who's going to fix it all. In the end, he's just a man.” (Wait, isn't that a Mary Magdalene lyric from Jesus Christ Superstar? And if so, doesn't that make Barack … the messiah? http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2007/09/michelle_obama_hijacks_the_str.html

along with this pic-

His supporters don't see it as an unfortunate pose.

8. I love the picture.
To me, it exudes the terrific emotion of the moment...coupled with humility and contemplation.

Don't confuse hopefulness, pride, and the demand for something better with Messianism.

9. I'm just nervous that the picture will be used against him by
people that don't like Obama. He's not making any claims, but a lot of us are projecting all of our hopes onto him. We may love the picture, I do myself, but I'm sure itr's already a subject of mockery elsewhere.
