Running mate for Senator Clinton.
I am hoping for a Clinton/Clark ticket. That would be a formidable team.

1. I'm sure Clark is on her short list.
If she is the nominee I think she would be better off choosing someone who enjoys more enthusiasm among more-left grassroots base folks, such as Russ Feingold of Wisconsin or maybe Chris Dodd even.

The farther to the middle-right she goes with a veep nom and her own positioning, the less enthusiasm she will have among the people best-positioned to elect her.

I feel that she is better off if she leans less toward Clark, Vilsack, and Bayh and more toward Feingold, Dodd, and Durbin.

Just my take.

2. I like Feingold. I am not very enthusiastic about Dodd.
Bayh is not one I would like to see.

Do you see a possibility of Obama taking a VP slot, to step into the big chair after 8 years?

3. Hi, IndianaJones. Very possible. If LBJ can accept a veep nom to John Kennedy,
I'm pretty sure almost anything can happen in politics!

LBJ and JFK were political expedients and not personal friends, to say the least.

Very good point on Obama, and it could very well happen.

4. I like the rumor about Webb that I heard yesterday.
I've been very impressed with Webb ever since I first heard him, and for the most part, he hasn't disappointed me since he's been elected. He had a very impressive appearance on MTP a while ago.

10. The problem with Webb is that he just got elected to the U.S. Senate
in a state where electing Democrats to federal offices is not easy by any means - it might hurt the Virigina Democratic Party to have a situation where voters took a chance on electing a Democrat to the U.S. Senate only to have him taken away from them only 2 years later. That reason makes me doubt that Webb will be on the ticket - he would be an excellent choice otherwise.

6. I'd love it, but I don't think Clark would expand her base much
Obama, Evan Bayh, or Jim Webb would be the smarter choices... someone with real cross over appeal. Webb might be the riskiest because he could easily upstage her. On the other hand, maybe she needs to make a risky choice.

Oh, wait... what the hell am I saying? It's too damn early to be discussing VP selections.

*shakes head*
