How Activists OFTEN Miss the Boat |
|
We often and I include myself become so enraged that we focus on the wrong point or person(s).
Let us go back to the Begining Of Iraq War.
Human nature being what it is--The Fury against Dems who voted with GWB and GOP was boiling. So attack attack the Dems who voted for War.
There were Democrats who did not vote for the War. For example, Bob Graham, a very serious senator and one of the most popular governors in Fla history. Graham very bravely gave a long speech on the Floor of the Senate explaining in concrete terms how the the evidence was not thrre. He was experienced on all the committees having to do with CIA and Intelligence. Furthermore, he ran for president and went around the country explaining how the evidence had not been there in the first place and the war was a mistake.
How many activists came to his side to support him?
Likewise this week the Lieberman-Kyle Bill passed. I have read some fuming and raging posts against the Dems for voting for this legislation.
J. Biden and C.Dodd, Democrats who are most credible, voted against this legislation.
Yet the rage goes on. Who stands with Dodd and Biden????
Just a thought.

1. I missed the boat completely once and fell into the harbor. |

It was really cold and my legs went numb. I never did that again.
