Clinton: $5,000 For Every U.S. Baby Born
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21033583/

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday that every child born in the United States should get a $5,000 "baby bond" from the government to help pay for future costs of college or buying a home.

Clinton, her party's front-runner in the 2008 race, made the suggestion during a forum hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus.

"I like the idea of giving every baby born in America a $5,000 account that will grow over time, so that when that young person turns 18 if they have finished high school they will be able to access it to go to college or maybe they will be able to make that downpayment on their first home," she said.

The New York senator did not offer any estimate of the total cost of such a program or how she would pay for it. Approximately 4 million babies are born each year in the United States.

How much do I get for not adding to our population crisis?

7. I know. There also need to be incentives to stay childless (or at least not have any of your own)

3. So where are we going to get the money for this?
We're talking about approx. 20 billion a year for this program, where's it going to come from? We're almost 9 trillion dollars in debt now, we can't afford these kind of spending programs unless Hillary is willing to make so steep cuts in the defense sector(and there's no way in hell she'll do that). So we're left with what, borrowing even more money? Not a bright idea.

This sounds more like another give away to her friends and backers in the financial sector, gee, just think another four million customers each and every year. Pulling out between five and ten percent of that five thousand dollars for "fees". Hmm, Hillarycare for the financial sector.
